Ladies(?) and Gentlemen.....STEEN WOLF
Ring Announcer Jon Ian welcomes everyone in attendance to Steen Wolf as Disco Machine and new color commentator Michael Saint welcome those watching on iPPV. Disco and Saint quickly run down the card, making sure to highlight the two PWG Title matches, that being Young Bucks vs. the Hybrid Dolphins and Kevin Steen vs. El Generico.
"You're Simply The Best" begins to play as Prince Devitt makes his way towards the ring, the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight and Jr. Tag Team Titles around his waist. Alongside his partner Ryusuke Taguchi as "Apollo 55", Devitt has made a name for himself on the Japanese wrestling scene, catching the attention of fans worldwide. Devitt is making his PWG debut tonight in an effort to prove he is among the top wrestlers in the world.
Survivor's "Burning Heart" replaces "You're Simply The Best" as Zack Sabre Jr. is the next to make his way toward the ring. At on 24 years old, Sabre has built up a reputation as one of the best pure wrestlers on the planet, able to blend lucha-style wrestling with an MMA-influenced style. As both men begin to prepare for the match, referee Anthony Rosas calls for the bell.
Segment One: Singles Match
Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Prince Devitt
From the get-go, both men show respect for one another, immediately shaking hands before sizing one another up. Sabre is the first man to make a move, shooting in and taking Devitt to the mat. Sabre begins to strike, but Devitt is able to shove off with the legs before getting back to a vertical position. Both men go for the lock up, jockeying for position until Devitt grabs a side headlock. Immediately Devitt switches it to a hammerlock, forcing Sabre to a knee. Devitt, still applying the hammerlock, rotates around before dropping Sabre with a n inverted lungblower, driving the wind out of Sabre. Devitt continues working over the midsection, punishing Sabre with multiple kicks and knees. To his credit, Sabre tries fighting back, even managing to connect with a Pele Kick that sends Devitt reeling. Sabre goes to build momentum by going for a superkick, connecting with Devitt's arm. Sabre goes on the offensive, working the arm over with several arm locks, even connecting with a Hammerlock DDT that has Devitt immediately grab his arm in pain.
Sabre begins to motion for the end, looking to lock in the New School Armbar. As Devitt gets to his feet, Sabre begins to go for the New School Armbar, only for Devitt to grab Sabre mid-air and powerbomb him into the turnbuckle. As Sabre stumbles out, Devitt scoops him up before delivering Devitt's End! Devitt grabs his arm in pain, he can't capitalize! Referee Anthony Rosas begins the 10-count, the fans urging both men to get to their feet. Both men get up by 8, immediately going head to head, neither man refusing to yield. Sabre responds first with a slap, only for Devitt to return the favor with a slap as well. Both men begin delivering the stiffest slaps imaginable, both men refusing to let the other get the upper hand. Devitt ends up better, connecting with two stiff slaps before connecting with a backhand. Devitt grabs him for the Shingata Prince's Throne...... SABRE REVERSES INTO THE NEW SCHOOL ARMBAR!! DEVITT TRIES FIGHTING OUT OF IT...... HE REACHES FOR THE ROPES.....
HE TAPS! PRINCE DEVITT TAPS OUT TO THE NEW SCHOOL ARMBAR!! [****]
Sabre releases the hold, the fans applauding both men in the match. Sabre and Devitt both get to their feet, meeting in the middle of the ring. Sabre offers his hand in respect to which Devitt accepts, both men receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.
Winner: Zack Sabre Jr. (Submission, New School Armbar) (Excalibur: Well, at least Devitt's smarter than Tim Sylvia. Course, that's not saying much....)30, 90, 60Notes: Prince Devitt lost 1 point of overness from this match. Zack Sabre Jr. gained 2 points of overness from this match.Segment Two: Six-Man Tag Match
The Fightin' Taylor Boys and Brandon Gatson vs. Willie Mack, Shiima Xion, and Jerrelle Clark
Following the technical affair that was Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Prince Devitt, this match has high expectations from the fans. And fortunately, it does not disappoint. Brian and Ryan Taylor not only make Mama Taylor and big brother Chuck proud, but make a strong case to challenging for the titles. The Taylors work as a well-oiled machine, isolating Shiima Xion and working him over. Gatson works over Xion with chain wrestling, proving that his involvement in the 2010 BOLA Semi-Finals wasn't a fluke. It's only by luck that Xion is able to tag out, reversing a Cactus Flower attempt into a back body drop on Ryan before connecting with a double stomp to Brian. Xion makes the tag to Willie Mack, who immediately begins to clear house. Brian goes for a clothesline, only to be met with an Exploder Suplex that sends him into the turnbuckles. Ryan tries going for a sneak attack, but Jerrelle catches him with a springboard dropkick that sends him to the outside. Jerrelle follows this up with a suicide dive, taking both men out. Gatson is the last man standing for his team, trading blows with Mack. Gatson tries to connect with a superkick, but Mack spins him around before connecting with the Chocolate Thunder Bomb. Mack can barely think about going for a cover before Brian connects with a dropkick that sends him towards his corner. Xion tags back in, looking to finish the match. As Xion gets Gatson in position for the Filipino Destroyer, Gatson back body drops him before tagging in Brian Taylor. Brian gets Xion in position for the Cactus Flower once more as Gatson takes Ryan's place, driving Xion's head into the canvas. Gatson holds Mack at bay as Taylor makes the cover, getting the victory. [**1/2]
Winners: The Fightin' Taylor Boys & Brandon Gatson (Pinfall, Taylor over Xion, Gatson-assisted Cactus Flower) (Disco Machine: Despite what Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes would have you think, white men can jump. Brian got like two feet of air.)33, 75, 54Segment Three
Chuck Taylor's Open Challenge
The opening sounds of "Hey Sandy" begin to play as "The Kentucky Gentlemen" himself, Chuck Taylor makes his way to the ring. Disco Machine and Excalibur begin to wonder who will answer the challenge, with Excalibur helpfully suggesting Chris Bosh of all people ("Because this turning into a 'Suck My Cock' match would be all kinds of amazing"). Taylor grabs the mic from Jon Ian before smiling.
Taylor: First things first. Brian, Ryan, I just got off the phone with Mama Taylor, and she wants to let you know that you made her proud tonight. The second you got that win I called her, and she told me how proud she was of her boys making the Taylor name proud. And right before she hung up, she told me that as the oldest Taylor, it was my job to do the same thing. And as a Gentlemen, I always make my Mama proud.
Now I know I said this was an open challenge, but I don't want some ham 'n egger coming out here and trying to make a name for himself off of me. Because if there's anyone that's gonna make their name off of someone else, it's going to be me! That's why I'm calling out a legend. I'm calling out someone who's seen it all. I'm calling out...... TOP GUN TALWAR!
*"Highway To The Danger Zone" plays as the fans immediately begin cheering. After about 20 seconds, the fans begin to boo as Taylor has a mock look of sadness on his face.*
Huh, could've sworn he'd show. Well alright then. Gimme someone else, gimme a professional, give me Scott Lost!
*"Moment of Clarity" by Jay-Z begins to play as the fans cheer once more. However, the cheers are replaced by boos as the music fades out.*
Would you believe that?! Two so-called PWG Legends, afraid to come out here and challenge me! Well, I know someone who won't disappoint you people. Someone who knows how much PWG means, someone who put on one of the most memorable Guerrilla Warfare matches. Check your weather forecast people, here comes a Human Tornado!
*"Cool" by Suga Free begins playing as the fans begin an audible "**** You Taylor!" chant. The music dies down as Taylor is all smiles.*
Well there you have it folks! Three legends all afraid to challenge the Kentucky Gentlemen. Mark this day folks, make today "National Chuck Taylor Day", because no one, and I mean NO ONE-
*"Just Another Day In The FLA" begins playing as Matt Cross immediately begins making a beeline towards the ring. Seeing an actual challenger approach, Taylor practically dives out of the ring as Cross enters. Cross picks up the mic as Taylor fumes on the outside.*
You know what Taylor, you like to run your mouth and challenge people who've retired. Well how about you man up and accept my challenge, right here, right now?
*Taylor hesitates for a second, causing the crowd to chant what Excalibur refers to as a "certain part of the female anatomy". Taylor becomes livid before sliding into the ring, motioning for referee Patrick Hernandez to ring the bell.
69 (Excalibur: Yeah, I bet it was!)Segment Four: Singles Match
Matt Cross vs. Chuck Taylor
With Taylor unaware that someone was actually going to answer his challenge, he spends the first few minutes completely on the defensive. At times he's able to get some offense in, but Cross responds with his brand of high-flying offense that Taylor doesn't have a response for. At one point, Cross connects with a Mule Kick before sweeping the legs, taking Taylor down. Without missing a beat, Cross connects with a beautiful double knee moonsault that drives the air out of Taylor, drawing a big cheer from the crowd.
But while Taylor may not be able to match Cross's high-flying style, he is willing to cheat, and that helps turn the tide. As Cross tries going for a splash in the corner, Taylor pulls the ref in harm's way, causing Cross to stop just before collision. With Cross close enough, Taylor connects with a quick thumb to the eye. With Cross distracted, Taylor connects with a kick to the gut before hitting Sole Food for the three [**1/2]. Taylor immediately slides out of the ring and heads for the back, making sure to lunge at several small children in the audience.
Winner: Chuck Taylor (pinfall, thumb to the eye-assisted Sole Food) (Excalibur: Cheating bastard.)52, 76, 64The sounds of "Idiot Outlaw" by ACMA bring out SPEED Muscle, as Naruki Doi has his eyes set firmly on the ring. Currently one-half of the Open The Companion Gate champions alongside Masato Yoshino, Doi enters the ring as Yoshino stands in his corner, eagerly awaiting his opponent.
He doesn't have to wait long, as the opening sounds of "Fighter's Passion" has the crowd eagerly cheering. "Fighter's Passion" gets cut off with a gunshot before "Dogfight" by M.O.V.E. brings out Low-Ki. However, by his side is TJ Perkins, who stands in the corner as Low-Ki slides into the ring. Ki begins warming up in his corner as the bell rings.
Segment Five: Singles Match
Low-Ki w/ TJ Perkins vs. Naruki Doi w/ Masato Yoshino
For a few seconds, neither man moves, the tension growing between them with each passing second. Low-Ki is the first to make a move, slowly walking to the center of the ring as Doi does the same. The two exchange a brief handshake before circling one another, looking for an opening. What follows next has fans on their seat, as Ki and Doi proceed to have one of the stiffest exchanges in PWG history. Within minutes, both men have red welts on their chests, the result of chops and kicks thrown with enough force to cause permanent damage. At one point Doi is in the corner, allowing Low-Ki to deliver machine gun-like chops that leaves Doi's chest bleeding.
With neither man backing down, the exchange turns into a battle of who can keep the other down. Ki connects with the Tidal Wave before following it up with Black Magic, but Doi manages to get the shoulder up at two. Ki looks to hit the Tidal Crush, but Doi manages to catch Ki in mid-air before launching Ki into the turnbuckles with an overhead Exploder Suplex. As Ki struggles to get to his feet using the turnbuckles, Doi connects with Dai Bosou before following it up with the Bosou Elbow, but Ki still kicks out at two. Both men lie on the mat, the wind knocked out of them as the ref begins his count.
As the ref gets to five, both men begin to stir, the crowd cheering for this match to continue. Both men get to a kneeling position before locking eyes with one another, immediately going head to head. Both men get to their feet, neither man refusing to budge until Doi connects with a headbutt. Ki reels for a second before connecting with a headbutt of his own, sending Doi stumbling back. Doi comes back with another headbutt, sending Ki bouncing off the ropes and connecting with a headbutt of his own. As Doi looks to connect with another headbutt, Ki catches him with a roundhouse kick, stunning Bosou Muscle. Ki follows this up with several open palm strikes before setting him on his shoulders, looking for the Ki Krusher. As Ki looks to connect, Doi begins throwing elbows to the side of Ki's head, stunning him long enough to drop behind him. Doi immediately connects with the Doi 555, putting Ki on the mat. Doi begins climbing the top rope, looking as though he might try to connect with the Bosou Elbow once more. However, the match begins to take its toll, as Doi takes a while to get to the top, allowing Ki to recover. As Doi is about to get to the top, Ki connects with the Tidal Crush once more, stunning Doi. Low-Ki ascends to the second turnbuckle before lifting Doi up for the Ki Krusher. Yoshino can only look on as Ki connects with the second rope Ki Krusher, the crowd on their feet by this point. Ki drapes a hand over Doi, and mercifully it's over [****1/4]. The crowd continues to give the two men a standing ovation as Perkins helps Ki to the back as Yoshino begins to check on Doi.
Winner: Low-Ki (pinfall, elevated Ki Krusher) (Disco Machine: That match was stiffer than a pedophile at a taping for Toddlers & Tiaras.)79, 59, 100The sounds of "Clutch" play as "Dynamite" Davey Richards and "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards make their way to the ring. Former tag team champions in other promotions, The American Wolves are looking to get into title contention here in PWG. Richards especially would love nothing more than to once again hold the PWG Tag Team Titles, having held the belts with Super Dragon once upon a time.
As the Wolves begin warming up, Excalibur stands up from the commentary position and makes his way to the ring. Richards and Edwards are understadably confused by this as Excalibur takes the mic from Jon Ian.
Excalibur: Guys, I know you're probably wondering what the hell I'm doing inside this ring when you've got a match against the Motor City Machine Guns. But unfortunately, I just got word that the Guns aren't going to be able to compete tonight. Alex Shelley has a minor injury at this time, thankfully nothing serious, but the PWG Board has forbidden him from wrestling tonight.
But that doesn't mean you two aren't wrestling tonight! We promised you a match, and dammit we're going to give you one. Luckily we got one on short notice, and they actually jumped at the chance to face you two. So what I'm going to do is go back to my seat at the commentary booth and let them introduce themselves.
Excalibur hands the mic back to Ian and slides out of the ring as the Wolves look on confused, awaiting their opponents.....
Up In Smoke make their way down to the ring, making sure to high five fans along the way. Cheech and Cloudy, two laid back wrestlers looking for a good time, enter the ring and approach the Wolves. Richards and Edwards immediately go on the defense, but Up In Smoke are all smiles as they offer handshakes, which are (tentatively) accepted. Cheech and Cloudy get to their corner and begin discussing strategy as the bell rings.
Segment Six: Tag Team Match
The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) vs. Up In Smoke (Cheech and Cloudy)
The match starts off rather strangely, as Cheech and Cloudy begin trying to decide who should start the match. Richards begins waiting anxiously as Up In Smoke decide the ultimate method of deciding: Rock, Paper, Scissors. A quick game turns into a Best of Three, then a Best of Five as Up In Smoke simply can't decide. Having had enough, Richards approaches the duo, who invite Richards to play as well. Richards manages to win a round before Cheech suddenly rolls him up, only getting the two.
From there, Cheech and Cloudy prove that they can hang with the Wolves, showing an amazing display of speed and technical ability, especially from Cheech. However, the Wolves prove why they're one of the top tag teams in wrestling, managing to catch Cloudy with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker before Richards comes off with a boot to the side of the head. From there the Wolves begin to dissect Cloudy, utilizing their superior ground work to weaken the lighter wrestler. One sequence has Richards holding Cheech in a Camel Clutch before lifting Cloudy's arms, locking in a Full Nelson. Richards cranks on the submission as Cloudy screams in pain, the crowd begging him not to tap. As the ref checks on Cloudy, he begins leaning backwards, forcing Richards back as well. Cloudy continues bending backwards, his spine bending at an almost unnatural angle before he's able to free one of his legs. As Richards backs up to keep the Full Nelson locked in, Cloudy manages to get to a vertical base before stomping on Richards' foot. Richards releases the hold, allowing Cloudy to connect with a Pele Kick that sends Richards to the mat. The crowd begins cheering on both men as Cloudy crawls to his corner, desperate to tag the fresh Cheech in. Richards has a similar idea, managing to make the tag first, allowing Edwards to enter. Edwards makes a beeline for Cloudy, managing to catch Cloudy's foot. Edwards keeps hold as Cloudy gets to a vertical base, desperately reaching for the tag. Cloudy shifts his attention to Edwards before going for an enzugiri, which Edwards manages to avoid. Cloudy doesn't miss a beat, landing on his foot before jumping backwards, catching Edwards with a boot to the face. Edwards reels back as Cloudy manages to make the tag, bringing in Cheech.
Edwards tries to regroup, but Cheech immediately comes with a snap hurricanrana that sends Edwards out of the ring. Richards enters, trying to keep the momentum, but Cheech sidesteps the American Wolf before catching him with a German Suplex that only gets two when Edwards breaks up the pin. Edwards looks to hit the Backpack Stunner, but Cheech locks in a Cobra Clutch, complete with body scissors. Edwards begins ramming Cheech's back into the turnbuckles, but Cheech keeps the hold on, looking to score the victory. It takes Richards and a well placed kick to the back that forces Cheech to release the hold, but Cloudy catches Richards with a dropkick that sends him to the outside. Edwards rushes towards Cloudy, but Cloudy connects with a drop toe hold that sends Edwards onto the second rope. Up In Smoke look to hit Partly Cloudy With a Chance of Cheech, but Richards grabs Cloudy's legs and swings him onto the outside floor. Cheech still connects with his dropkick, which leaves Edwards dazed. Cheech looks to hit Go 2 Cheech, but Richards catches Cheech with a kick to the ribs as Cheech is about to complete the move. Richards grabs Cheech for a German Suplex as Edwards connects with the Superkick, sending Cheech backwards as Richards connects with the German Suplex. Richards bridges into a pin as Edwards keeps Cloudy at bay, allowing the ref counting the pinfall [****]. As the Wolves head to the back, Cloudy helps Cheech to his feet, the crowd applauding both men. Up In Smoke acknowledge the crowd before exiting the ring, high-fiving the fans.
Winners: The American Wolves (Pinfall, Richards over Cheech, The Wolf's Lair) (Disco Machine: I'd make a joke about Cheech and Cloudy's victory aspirations going up in smoke, but it's too easy.) (Excalibur: Like your mom.)[/i]
95, 56, 77The sounds of "Hart Attack" bring out the last graduate of the famed Hart Dungeon, Theo Hart. Excalibur explains on commentary that although he once known as "TJ Wilson", Hart has taken this name as a tribute to his trainers ("or he changed his name to escape the Mounties up North"). Hart gets a warm reception from the fans as he begins preparing for his opponent.
He doesn't have to wait long, as "Chris Is Awesome" brings out the former PWG Heavyweight Champion, Chris Hero. Excalibur mentions Hero's surprising defeat to Willie Mack at the Battle of Los Angeles before stating that a win here could propel him back into title contention. Hero shakes hands with Hart, and just like that the match begins.
Segment Seven: Singles Match
Chris Hero vs. Theo Hart
While Low-Ki vs. Naruki Doi may have been an exhibition in stiffness, Hero and Hart decide to show of their technical wrestling, competing in a game of outdoing the other. Hero shows why he's labeled one of the best technical wrestlers in the world, while Hart proves that he's worthy of carrying the famous last name, even connecting with a running powerslam, shades of Davey Boy Smith. Hart decides to continue, connecting with several high-impact moves that have Excalibur and Disco Machine mention that it's almost like seeing Owen in his prime: A technical wizard with a knowledge of aerial ability.
To his credit, Hero won't back down easily, managing to dig deep into his bag of tricks. He even pulls out the old Hero's Sandwich after catching Hart in mid-air. Hero pushes the advantage, utilizing his knowledge of the Cravate to connect with several Cravate-Plexes and Cravate-Busters. Hart fights back, but Hero presses the advantage, looking to make a case for a title shot down the line. Hero looks to have the match won with the Hero's Welcome, but Hart suddenly springs back, catching Hero with a knee. Although Hero's dazed, he keeps the hold locked in, prompting Hart to connect with the knees once more. Hero releases the hold, allowing Hart to connect with a spin kick before hitting the Fisherman's Neckbreaker, only getting two. Undeterred, Hart begins working over the back with precision, setting up for the Sharpshooter. Hart even steals the Hero Sandwich before climbing the turnbuckles, connecting with an elbow drop. Still, Hero will not be denied, kicking out once more. Hart begins to show signs of frustration, connecting with Kawada kicks before connecting with a snap DDT, once again getting a two.
Rather than continue the assault, Hart gets to his feet, looking to steal another signature move of Hero's: The Rolling Elbow. As Hero gets to his feet, Hart looks to connect with the elbow, only for Hero to duck underneath the move before connecting with the Death Blow right to the back of the head. Immediately Hero grabs hold of the cravate once more, connecting with another Cravate-Plex before keeping the hold on, transitioning into the Hangman's Clutch II. Hart screams in agony, looking desperately for a way to escape, but Hero wrenches on the hold, determined to force the tap out. Hart tries crawling to the ropes, desperate for a chance to escape, but Hero is admant, pulling back as far as he can until Hart is forced to reluctantly tap out [****]. Hero begins celebrating his victory as Hart gets to his feet, upset about his loss. Hero offers his hand out of respect, the crowd cheering for both men after an amazing match. Almost reluctantly, Hart accepts the handshake, giving it the briefest of shakes before heading to the back, a look of anger and disappointment on his face.
Winner: Chris Hero (Submission, Hangman's Clutch) (Disco Machine: Finally, a Hart taps to a long, blonde-haired gentlemen.)94, 67, 80The opening of "MMMBop" begins to play before suddenly dying out, only to be replaced by "Before I Forget" by Slipknot as PWG Tag Team Champions Matt & Nick Jackson make their way to the ring. As they enter the ring, Nick grabs the mic from Jon Ian, looking out into the crowd.
Nick: You hear that? That's the sound of Matt and I finally having enough of this cutesy crap. The Hanson, the "MMMBop", that's the old Young Bucks, that's the cutesy Young Bucks who were happy just to be here. Me and Matt? We hate this place. We were on NATIONAL FREAKING TELEVISION, competing against a tag team that couldn't be bothered to show up against the American Wolves. We had it all, and in one second it was taken from us. One meeting with the head honcho, with Dixie, and suddenly me and my brother are out on our asses. We're back here, in front of you stupid people.
Matt: The thing you gotta realize Dixie, is while you continue making your little wrestling fed into an old folks home, Nick and I aren't going to twiddle our thumbs and wait for you to look our way again. No, we're going to take Pro Wrestling Guerrilla into heights never seen before, we're going to make it rival your pathetic company, and WE'RE GOING TO DRIVE PWG DOWN YOUR GODDAMN THROAT! YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THE DAY YOU FUCKED US OVER WOMAN, I SWEAR TO GOD YOU WILL!
Nick: Starting tonight, there's no more "Young Bucks". There's no more "Max Buck & Jeremy Buck", no more "Generation Me". Tonight, consider it a birth of an empire here in PWG. The Jackson Two, Matt and Nick Jackson, we're going to make this place worth a damn. And then, we're gonna take over that hellhole in Florida.
Nick tosses the mic back to Jon Ian as "The End Is The Beginning Is The End" plays, drawing out the Hybrid Dolphins. "The Dolphin Master" Paul London and "The Master of the Dolphin Breaker" Roderick Strong head towards the ring, having reunited after almost two years to challenge for the belts. The Jackson Two look at the Dolphins with a look of disdain as London and Strong begin preparing for the match.
Segment Eight: Tag Team Match for the PWG World Tag Team Titles
The Jackson Two (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Hybrid Dolphins (Paul London & Roderick Strong)
The new attitude of The Jackson Two translates into the ring, where Matt Jackson wrestles circles around London. Normally able to hold his own, London seems severely outmatched as The Jackson Two work him over, effectively cutting the ring in half. One sequence shows London in the corner as Nick rushes full on as Matt does the same from the apron, connecting with boots to the head. It's only after Nick misses an attempt at a moonsault that London is able to gather his wits, connecting with a dropsault as Nick gets back to his feet before tagging in Strong.
From there, the tide begins to turn, as Strong dissects both Jackson brothers with a variety of backbreakers. Matt and Nick look to use their newfound attitude as an advantage, but Strong keeps the pressure on, tossing Nick into the turnbuckle before coming in with an Avalanche Splash that knocks the wind out of Nick. Strong looks to put it away with the Gibson Driver, but Nick enters the ring, using his brother as a stepping stone to catch Strong with a Shining Wizard. London enters the ring and tackles Nick to the ground, the two rolling to the outside. Back in the ring, Strong recovers from the Shining Wizard as Matt measures him, preparing for the Superkick. As Strong gets to his feet, Matt looks to connect with the kick, only for Strong to duck underneath the move before bouncing off the ropes, connecting with the Sick Kick that sends Matt to the ground. Strong makes the familiar cut-throat motion before lifting Matt up, looking to hit the Gibson Driver. However, Matt spins out before catching Strong with the Standing Shiranui, making sure to hook the legs as Nick tosses London into the guardrail. Strong manages to kick out, but it's too late, as Rick Knox counts the pinfall [****]. The Jackson Two celebrate another title defense as they make their way to the back, leaving the Hybrid Dolphins in the ring. Strong looks disappointed as London explains Nick's attack, reaching his hand out for a handshake. Strong accepts the handshake as the two head towards the back, but Strong still looks disappointed with the loss.
Winners: The Jackson Two (Pinfall, Matt Jackson over Strong, Standing Shiranui) (Excalibur: I haven't seen Strong that disappointed since he lost a bet and had to see "Bucky Larson".) (Disco Machine: HA!)63, 95, 79The PWG World Tag Team titles have gained in image."OLE! OLE OLE OLE! OOOLEEEEEEEEEEE, OH-OLEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Everyone's favorite generic luchadore El Generico makes his way to the ring, the crowd singing along to his theme music. The 2011 Battle of Los Angeles winner enters the ring as Excalibur mentions that he won this title shot after defeating current champion Kevin Steen in the finals of the BOLA tournament.
"Unsettling Differences" begins playing as the current PWG Heavyweight Champion Kevin Steen makes his way down. Steen immediately zeroes in on Generico, staring at him the entire time he heads towards the ring. Steen enters the ring and literally throws the PWG Title to Rick Knox before tackling Generico to the mat, starting the match.
Segment Nine: Ladder Match for the PWG World Heavyweight Title
Kevin Steen vs. El Generico
Steen and Generico pick up right where the 2011 BOLA Finals left off, exchanging wild lefts and rights. Steen gets the better of Generico, connecting with several unanswered shots before referee Rick Knox gets physically involved, seperating the two. As Generico gets to his feet, Steen rushes him again, this time connecting with a field goal-like kick right in the crotch. From there Steen takes control of the match, taking his time to unload over a year's worth of anger on his one-time friend and tag team partner. Steen tosses Generico to the outside before following, making sure to grab a steel chair as he stalks his opponent. Steen connects with several shots to the back before tossing Generico back into the ring, taking the ladder with him.
Steen sets the ladder up in the corner before grabbing a prone Generico, whipping him into the ladder. Generico manages to counter at the last second, running up the ladder before backflipping off, turning to face Steen. Steen goes rushing in once more as Generico sidesteps, sending Steen into the steel ladder. As Steen tries to shake the cobwebs loose, Generico comes off with a Yakuza Kick, sending Steen's head into the ladder. From there Generico begins dishing out the same amount of punishment, even delivering a brainbuster onto the steel chair. Finally, Generico sets up the ladder, looking tot ake the title.
However, Steen is still conscious, and seeing his hated foe try to win the match is enough to get Steen moving. Steen struggles to his feet before grabbing the chair, throwing it at Generico. Steen yanks Generico off the ladder before ramming his head onto the steps, looking for blood from the masked luchadore. Steen throws Generico into the corner before connecting with the Cannonball. Steen is the one making his way up the ladder now, though the amount of punishment he's endured makes his climb a slow one. As such, Generico is able to crawl to the other side of the ladder, beginning his climb as well. Seeing his opponent making the climb, Steen gets a bloodthirsty look on his face, waiting for Generico to get to the top. As Generico gets closer, Steen begins throwing wild punches, making sure to hold onto Generico's mask to prevent him from falling off. After several shots, Steen prepares to hit one final blow before Generico catches him with what Excalibur can only describe as "DICK PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNCCCHHHHH!!!". Steen leans forward in surprise, allowing Generico to lift Steen up..........
BRAINBUSTAAAAAAAAAAAHH! BRAINBUSTAH ONTO THE STEEL LADDER!
Steen and Generico crash onto the floor, clearly exhausted from this match. Suddenly, The Jackson Two storm the ring, attacking both men. Generico gets More Bang For Your Buck, The Jacksons stopping to admire their handiwork. They look to do the same to Steen, but Steen slides out of the Finlay Roll before shoving Matt into the turnbuckle, crotching Nick on the top rope. Steen grabs the discarded steel chair and connects with a shot between Matt's eyes before shoving Nick onto the outside floor. With Generico and The Jacksons out, Steen climbs the ladder, grabbing the PWG Title [***1/2].
As Steen celebrates, Nick Jackson attacks him from behind, shoving him into the ladder. Matt makes it to his feet before joining in the attack as well, assaulting Steen with repeated stomps. As El Generico tries to (surprisingly) help Steen, The Jacksons turn their attention to him, catching him with stereo superkicks that sends him to the arena floor. Nick grabs a mic as Matt continues stomping.
Nick: We told you Steen, we told everyone here! We're taking over this goddamn company, and we're gonna get back at that bitch Dixie and all of those reject wrestlers! We're gonna take those old decrepit wrestlers and we're gonna put a bullet between their eyes! And you, you fat son of a bitch, you're not leading this revolution as champ! We are! And step one is taking the PWG Title, a title you don't deserve to have in the first place, and we're putting it on someone worthwhile! And God help me Steen, if we have to put a bullet between your eyes as well, we wi-
The lights suddenly die out as the fans begin cheering. After about twenty seconds, the lights come back on to find SUPER DRAGON holding Matt Jackson in position, Curb Stomping him into the mat. Nick tries to gain a measure of revenge with a superkick, but Super Dragon catches the kick before spinning Nick around, connecting with a Psycho Driver that plants Nick as well. Super Dragon stands tall in the ring as Steen gets to his feet, looking at the man he was once embroiled in a bitter feud with. Super Dragon stares at Steen for several intense seconds before slowly extending his hand, which Steen accepts.
Steen: YOUNG BUCKS! Where are you going? Running away with your tail between your legs, afraid of some actual competition?
