www.realwrasslinnewz.comDixie Carter Issues Press Release on Future of Impact Wrestling by Bob Loblaw December 3, 2012 This morning, Dixie Carter, the President of Impact Wrestling, issued a press statement on the sudden parting of ways between IW and Hulk Hogan: "It is with great reluctance that I have to announce that, as of this past Friday, the Immortal Hulk Hogan is no longer under contract to Impact Wrestling. We have enjoyed our three-year relationship with Hulk, but there comes a time when things have to come to an end. Quite frankly, it was not fiscally healthy for our relationship to continue. Mr. Hogan has a great history in wrestling, and that's just what it is - history. We here at Impact Wrestling are looking to the future - bringing you, our loyal fans, the best in the present, and future, of Impact Wrestling!" - In addition to Hulk, his daughter Brooke is also out of Impact Wrestling.

First, Hogan was gone. Then, they dropped from 12 PPV's to 6. Now, some new siginings have been announced. - "Impact Wrestling is proud to welcome the newest members of the Impact Wrestling roster. These unorthadox Southern boys have a stellar resume in Ring of Honor, among many others, as well as a plethora of international experience." - IW also promised some "surprise signings" showing up in the coming weeks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Impact Wrestling also announced the formation of their own Developmental Territory beginning Next Week. www.realwrasslinnewz.comImpact Wrestling News - Yet another statement from Dixie Carter. In this one, she had news about the On-air Authority Figure role in Impact Wrestling. "For the past decade plus, the Authority Figure has been a staple of professional wrestling. We at Impact Wrestling are changing things up a bit. No longer will there be one person or group of people making the match decisions on Impact Wrestling. The Impact Wrestling Board of Directors will be the be-all and end-all of decision and match making for Impact Wrestling. The board has also announced that, from this point forward, they will have a spokesman present at all Impact Wrestling television shows and Pay-Per-Views. The man that the board feels best fits the qualities of this position is Al Snow.

OK, so to sum up how we got to Final Resolution:
TAG TEAM TITLE SITUATION
- During November (I didn't actually run these shows, so I'm making it up) Magnus turned on Samoa Joe and reunited with Douglas Williams, reforming the British Invasion, thus vacating the Tag Team Championship. The titles remained vacant due to all the confusion with Hogan leaving, and changes with the Board of Directors.
- Meanwhile, Joe vowed revenge on the British Invasion, and said he was "going back and finding an old friend" to take them on.
- On the final Impact of November, Al Snow announced, via the Board of Directors, that Impact Wresting, over the next few months, would be holding their first-ever round-robin format tag team championship tournament (think the G1 Climax Tag League, since I basically stole it). There will be 10 tag teams divided into 2 blocks of 5. Each team will face the other in its block once. A win nets you 2 points, a draw 1, and a loss 0. The top 2 in each block will advance to the semi-finals at Turning Point in February. The first-place team from each block will face the second-place team from the opposite block, with the winners facing each other that same night for the TNA World Tag Team Championship. The full field would be revealed on the first episode of Impact of December, with the tournament kicking off on the December 13 episode of Impact.
- Chris Sabin came to the ring with an announcement. Before he could speak, he was ambushed by the British Invasion, leading to the return of Alex Shelley to save Sabin from a beating! Later in the same show, Al Snow introduced the tag team of Futureshock to Impact Wrestling.
- Samoa Joe said he wanted to be in the tag team tournament, and announced his tag team partner, returning from the Madness, his former protege Jay Lethal!
- Sting & Garrett Bischoff announced a new mentorship/partnership and entered the tournament.
The full blocks for the tournament were released, including a few surprises.
BLOCK A
FutureShock the British Invasion Eric Young & ODB Samoa Joe & Jay Lethal the newest addition to TNA, Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin!
BLOCK B the Motor City Machine Guns the Briscoe Brothers the newly-named (and now heel) Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez, La Familia Robbie E & Robbie T Sting & Garrett Bischoff
VARIOUS OTHER THINGS
- I lazily copied booking again, having Austin Aries forfeit the X-Division title for a shot at the TNA World Championship. Bobby Roode (the Champ) initially said no, but was overruled by the Board of Directors and Aries was stripped of the X-division title in exchange for a World Championship title shot at Final Resolution.
- Daniels challenged Devon for a TV Title match at Final Resolution
- X-title: on the Impact before Final Resolution, D'angelo Dinero beat Jay Lethal and AJ Styles beat Zema Ion to advance to the X-Division title match at the PPV.
- Knockouts: Mickie James will challenge Gail Kim for the Knockouts title at the PPV.
Also, after a hard-fought main event match won by Jeff Hardy, his opponent, Kurt Angle, viciously attacked Hardy after the match. Hardy was out of action the show before the PPV, but challenged Angle to a rematch at the PPV, this time with no DQ.

www.impactwrestling.comFinal Resolution Preview Sunday, December 30, 2012 LIVE on PPV from Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, NC MAIN EVENT for the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight ChampionshipBobby Roode (c) vs. "the Greatest Man That Ever Lived" Austin AriesIn a story that sounds vaguely familiar, Austin Aries declared that he would vacate the X-Division Title in favor of a World Title match against the champion, Bobby Roode. "The It Factor" wanted nothing to do with it, saying that Aries can't hold a candle to "the Leader of the Selfish Generation." However, the Executive Board liked Aries' decision and, through their mouthpiece Al Snow, accepted Aries' title resignation and made the match. Can Roode retain "his" World Championship, or will A-Double become the NEW Heavyweight Champion of the World? For the Vacant X-Division Championship"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. "the Pope" D'Angelo DineroWhen Austin Aries vacated the X-Division Championship, a mini-tournament was held to determine the two men that would square off for the title. AJ Styles made short work of Zema Ion, and D'Angelo Dinero narrowly squeaked by Jay Lethal. Can "the Phenomenal One" win his sixth X-Division Championship, or will "the Pope" break through to win his first title in Impact Wrestling? Television ChampionshipDevon (c) defends against Christopher DanielsA few weeks ago on Impact, following Devon's successful Television Title defense against Gunner, Christopher Daniels blindsided the champ and left him laying. Daniels quickly made his motives clear: he wanted the Television gold. Daniels challenged, Devon accepted. It was as simple as that. Will Devon make another successful title defense, or will the "Fallen Angel" end the reign of Impact Wrestling's favorite brother? GRUDGE MATCH"the Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt AngleKurt Angle and Jeff Hardy had a great main event match on Impact a few weeks ago. Hardy was able to squeak out the win, only for Angle to attack him after the match and hold Hardy in the Ankle Lock until Impact Wresting officials and security were able to get Angle to release the hold. The following week, an obviously injured Jeff Hardy hobbled to the Impact Zone. He said he was hurt, but Angle didn't get the best of him. He wanted another match against Angle, but this time, all the rules are out the window. Angle responded, saying that he looked forward to the chance to put Jeff Hardy out of wrestling for good, using any means necessary. He went so far as to call Hardy "a cancer on wrestling," and said at Final Resolution, it will be "tap, then snap." 2 Matches From the Round Robin Tag Team Championship TournamentBLOCK A The British Invasion (2 points) vs. Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (2 points) and Futureshock (0) vs. Jay Lethal & Samoa Joe (0)Two great matches from Block A will be on tap at Final Resolution where first place is up for grabs. The British Invasion was successful in their first tournament match, against Eric Young & ODB. Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team also won their first tournament match when they narrowly defeated Futureshock. Who will come out of Final Resolution with first place? As mentioned, Futureshock had a great showing in their first Impact Wrestling match, narrowly losing to Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team. Now, they must lock horns with the newly reformed team of Samoa Joe and his one-time protege Jay Lethal. Can Joe and Lethal earn 2 precious points in their first match of the tournament, or will Futureshock get on the board? Knockouts TitleGail Kim (c) vs. Mickie JamesGail has the title. Mickie is really popular. I needed matches and haven't invested that much yet. Yay. A "We Needed to Fill the Card" MatchMr. Anderson vs. Bully RaySee witty title above matchup.

Obviously, just going on whims, given it's the first event. MAIN EVENT for the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship Bobby Roode (c) vs. "the Greatest Man That Ever Lived" Austin AriesA-DOUBLE! For the Vacant X-Division Championship "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. "the Pope" D'Angelo DineroI think "The Pope" gets made here. AJ's bigger than the X Division. Television Championship Devon (c) defends against Christopher DanielsUnless you're running Aces & 8's, I don't see mileage in Devon as champ. And Daniels deserves championships. ALL the championships. GRUDGE MATCH "the Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt AngleHeel wins to really give the face a mountain to climb. 2 Matches From the Round Robin Tag Team Championship Tournament BLOCK A The British Invasion (2 points) vs. Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (2 points) and Futureshock (0) vs. Jay Lethal & Samoa Joe (0) The first match is a coin flip. The second builds a newer team over a pair of established guys (Lethal's a returning guy, I know, but he has a history there). Knockouts Title Gail Kim (c) vs. Mickie James In my humble opinion, I've never thought Kim was any great shakes. And I've always been a Mickie mark. That being said, even I can see the handwriting on the wall. James has far fewer good days ahead than behind. Kim retains. "We Needed to Fill the Card" Mr. Anderson vs. Bully RayCause Mr. Anderson sucks and Bully Ray is eleven shades of awesome. Jed Shaffer ~And I'm hoping Aries/Ray down the line for the championship.

Final Resolution Preds
MAIN EVENT for the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship Bobby Roode (c) vs. "the Greatest Man That Ever Lived" Austin Aries Aries wins, setting himself up for a long, mega-heel run with the belt
For the Vacant X-Division Championship "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. "the Pope" D'Angelo Dinero Styles. He'll be a thorn in Aries side, following the "give up X Division title for a shot at the world" down the road when Aries refuses to give Styles a shot
Television Championship Devon (c) defends against Christopher Daniels Daniels, because Devon is horrible
GRUDGE MATCH "the Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle Tough match to call with so little to go off of. I say Hardy
2 Matches From the Round Robin Tag Team Championship Tournament BLOCK A The British Invasion (2 points) vs. Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (2 points) and Futureshock (0) vs. Jay Lethal & Samoa Joe (0) British Invasion and Futureshock have more long term potential, so those guys
Knockouts Title Gail Kim (c) vs. Mickie James The Ladies need more build, and taking the title from Gail won't help. Gail continues to look sexy while holding that belt
A "We Needed to Fill the Card" Match Mr. Anderson vs. Bully Ray Bully Ray because he is awesome, and Anderson is not
