International Wrestling Association IWA Slam! - Presented by FOX April 14th 2015 Los Angeles, California Attendance: 1,010
( The show kicks off with a recap from Sunday's “Against All Odds” Pay Per View, including The Ascension winning the World Tag Team Titles, Homicide's victory over Terry Funk, with Mick Foley screaming Homicide will finally get his match with him at next month's pay per view event, and the incredible World Heavyweight Championship match that was held inside the steel cage, including the aftermath that saw Prince Devitt save AJ Styles from Michael Bennett, Tye Dillinger, and Jim Cornette, just to turn his back on AJ Styles and proclaim that the World Heavyweight Championship will be his! The pyro inside the arena then explodes and we go ringside where we hear AJ Styles music begin to play. The crowd erupts as he walks out onto the stage with his championship over his shoulder. AJ limps down the ramp and enters the ring, where he grabs a microphone and prepares to speak. )
“AJ Styles”: I don't plan on taking a lot of your time tonight but there is something I do need to get off of my chest. This past Sunday night was one of the most grueling matches of my career, if that wasn't enough, the aftermath was one of the worst experiences of my life. Not only did I have to deal with Tye Dillinger, but Cornette and his new flavor of the month Michael Bennett decided to join in, then, just when I thought I could start to trust Prince Devitt, once again he showed where his colors lied and he joined in on the worst beating I've taken in my life. Last night was proof that as long as I'm champion, the only people I can truly trust, are you, the fans! Now I know it sounds like I've just come out here tonight to complain, but that's exactly the opposite of what I've come here to do tonight. You see my doctors have told me I won't be cleared to wrestle again for atleast four weeks, but the doctor didn't say anything about a fight. So I'm issuing the challenge right now, Tye Dillinger, Michael Bennett, Prince Devitt, and anyone else in that locker room that wants a shot at me or this World Heavyweight Championship, the line in the sand has been drawn, if you want a shot, come get you some!
( AJ immediately tosses the microphone out of the ring and lays the World Championship in the middle of the ring. It doesn't take too long for Tye Dillinger's music to hit. He makes his way out onto the stage, along with Michael Bennett and Maria Kanellis, they begin making their way down the ramp towards the ring. Bennett stops mid ways down the ramp and shares a kiss with Maria and tells her to stay put. Bennett and Dillinger begin to circle around the ring, AJ waves the on into the ring. After a moment Bennett hops up onto the ring apron. AJ rushes over to hit him but Bennett drops off the apron, this distracted AJ long enough for Tye to slid in behind AJ. Tye spins AJ around and goes for a punch but AJ blocks it and nails Tye with a forearm that sends him to the mat, Tye gets right back up and takes another. Bennett slides in but gets take down with a back elbow. AJ then nails Tye with a clothesline, and Bennett with another back elbow. AJ shoots Tye into the ropes and attempts a back drop but Tye holds onto the ropes, then kicks AJ in the shoulder. AJ staggers back, but ducks a clothesline attempt from Tye and goes for the springboard moonsault over Tye into a reverse ddt but Bennett nails AJ in the back of the head with a forearm, causing him to release Tye. Bennett then takes AJ down with a German suplex. Tye and Bennett begin putting the boots to AJ until the crowd begins to erupt in cheers. The camera cuts to the crowd where Kevin Steen is shown making his way over the barricade. He slides into the ring as Tye and Bennett turned their attention to him. Bennett charges at Steen, attempting a clothesline but he ducks, Bennett stopped, turned around, and Steen pressed him into the air catching him with the pop up powerbomb. Tye ran up behind Steen and hooked him for the Olympic Slam, but Steen slid down the back of Tye, spun him around and caught him with a boot to the gut, Steen hooked Tye for the package piledriver, but Tye fell backwards and rolled out of the ring. Tye and Maria grabbed the arm of Michael Bennett and pulled him outside the ring and helped him to his feet. Both men and Maria made their way to the top of the ramp as Steen stood in the center of the ring motioning for them to come back to the ring for more. Once they disappeared behind the curtain Steen slowly turned his head towards AJ Styles who was pulling himself up in the corner. Steen turned and charged across the ring, delivering a big boot to the side of the head of AJ. Steen then pulled AJ out of the corner, to the center of the ring and connected with the package piledriver. Steen got to his feet and looked down at the fallen AJ Styles, then to the World Heavyweight Championship, then back at AJ Styles, then motioned to his waist, saying that the World Championship is his. Steen then exited the ring and made his way up the ramp as referee's and officials made their way to the ring to check on an injured AJ Styles. )
( Backstage Tye Dillinger, Michael Bennett, and Maria Kanellis were shown entering Jim Cornette's office, before anyone could speak a knock was heard at the door, the door then opened and Dave Prazak entered with a microphone in hand and began to speak. )
“Dave Prazak”: Mr. Cornette, I was wondering if I could get a word with you on what we just saw transpire in the ring?
“Jim Cornette”: Prazak, how about you answer a question for me. What do you think when people barge into your office without being invited in?....Nah just shut your mouth, we all know you don't have a personal office so you don't know what that would be like. Just like you, or anyone else can imagine what is going through the mind of AJ Styles right now, except for me. You see, this is exactly what I wanted, AJ Styles is losing his mind right now. He is finally seeing that you can't trust anyone in this business, especially when you're on top of the mountain as the World Champion. Now Kevin Steen was a surprise, I didn't expect to see him coming through the crowd and sticking his nose into my business, but I'm not going to worry myself sick over him, I'm sure someone at headquarters in Chicago had something to do with that but I have a plan that will take care of him, Prince Devitt, and everyone else. The plan, it's called Survival of the Sickest. Not only is that the name of our next pay per view event, but it's also the name of the craziest, wildest, and the “sickest” tournament in pro wrestling history.
“Dave Prazak”: Mr. Cornette, who and what is this tournament about?
“Jim Cornette”: That's simple, the Survival of the Sickest tournament is about one goal, making it to the finals. You see, whoever makes it to the finals will already known their opponent, that man is the World Heavyweight Champion, AJ Styles. And to answer who is in the tournament? Pretty much a whose who in the wrestling world from here in the US, Mexico, and Japan!
“Dave Prazak”: Can you shed some light on when this tournament will begin and some of the matches?
“Jim Cornette”: The tournament begins tonight, and Jesus Christ, Prazak, I just made the announcement, but how about this, how about in tonight's main event we eliminate one of the biggest thorns in the side of my Empire in the opening round when Tye Dillinger eliminates Prince Devitt!
“Dave Prazak”: That's huge news!
“Jim Cornette”: Oh that's not all, I'm on a roll! Try this one on for size, when we come back from commercial, the scheduled tag match between The Young Bucks and Inner City Machine Guns, well, you'll still see all four of those men in action next, but it's going to be a fatal four way, one winner, and the winner is the first man to advance to the next round in the Survival of the Sickest tournament! Now Prozak get out of my office before I put you in the tournament against Michael Bennett!
( Dave Prazak quickly moves towards the door, nearly falling over a chair before exiting the office. Once the door closes Michael Bennett and Tye Dillinger shake hands with Jim Cornette as the show fades to a commercial break from our sponsors at “Right Guard”. As the show comes back from commercial we are back ringside for our opening contest of the evening. )

Matt quickly pulled Ricochet up to his feet and whipped him into the corner and followed but Ricochet pushed himself off the top rope and landed on top of the shoulders of Matt in an electric chair position but connected with a victory roll for the 1...2...3 out of no where!
Winner: Ricochet via pinfall
( After the referee called for the bell Ricochet rolled out of the ring and raised his arm in victory as Nick Jackson rolled back into the ring and began to argue with his brother Matt Jackson. “Jim Cornette”: Now I know you people want to know how I and the other members of The Empire could top last week. IWA Slam was out of control, the major announcement of the Survival of the Sickest tournament to crown a new number one contender to face the World Champion AJ Styles, May 17th. Now a lot of people say we lost our cool last week and went over board, but this is a new week, a new day, we've had time to calm down and think things through, starting with tonight. Obviously AJ Styles and Prince Devitt aren't in the building tonight after the beating we gave them last week, as for the rest of The Bullet Club, i've taken upon myself to suspend them from in ring competition until the Survival of the Sickest pay per view, when they return to take on The Ascension in a tables match! Now as for Kenny Omega, I took it upon myself to fly in your toughest competition from Japan, Kota Ibushi! As for the rest of the tournament, well I won't spoil all the surprises but you just saw the first member of The Empire advance to the next round, Michael Bennett, but the newest member of The Empire will be making his debut next week, and he is planning on taking this tournament by storm and making the finals all about The Empire! He is the crown jewel, the golden standard if you will, his name is.....well you're just going to have to wait for that one. But other matches you are going to see are, two mega stars from Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi versus Shinsuke Nakamura, CIMA taking on AR Fox, Alex Shelley versus Lightning Mike Quackenbush, Kevin Steen will make his in ring debut when he goes one on one with Ruckus, and so much more. In the end though it doesn't really matter, because here's a little spoiler for all you not so smart fans out there, I guarentee the winner of this tournament and your next World Champion, will be, a member of the Empire!
( Cornette then tossed the microphone back to the ringside attendant and joined Maria in raising the arm of Michael Bennett. “Jim Cornette”: Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight is the night, the stars are shining bright outside and in just a few moments it's going to be shining even brighter inside! Last week I promised the debut of a new standard in professional wrestling, and I wanted to make sure things went off without a hitch tonight. I spared no expense, I have security lined up at every entrance and exit this arena has, making sure The Bullet Club doesn't show up and attempt to ruin this great night. This man is a former NCAA amateur wrestlling champion, a man I met early on in his pro wrestling career and I knew he was destined for greatness. Other idiots in this business may have dropped the ball on him but I haven't, and I won't. He is going to run through this tournament like exlax, AJ Styles, get ready to start doing your homework because this is the man that is going to conqeur your championship reign and put you back on the injured list permantely. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin!

We then returned ringside where a table and chairs had been set up, with a contract placed in the middle and a microphone placed on each side. We then hear the music of Mick Foley begin to play and he makes his way out onto the stage to a huge ovation from the fans in attendance. Foley rolled into the ring and did the trademark “bang bang” pose before walking to the side of the table facing the ramp and picking up the microphone. )
“Mick Foley”: Earlier tonight we saw a little video package talking about how IWA Slam was going to be going on the road. That's a great thing for the company, I have great memories in cities like Chicago, Dallas, St. Louis, hell, even Philadelphia, but nothing compares to the energy I feel every time I walk through that curtain, right here...in Los Angeles California! You, the fans, are the reason I keep coming back year after year, week after week. Over the past few months I've tried to keep peace, I've tried to share the knowledge that I have picked up over the years in this business and share it with the already talented, young, and hungry talent in that locker room but no matter how hard I tried, there was always that one guy. That one guy goes by the name of Homicide. I know I don't have to explain my actions to anyone, but I felt like I owed it to the fans to explain why I come to IWA but Homicide couldn't accept reality. I had no intentions of stepping into this ring as an active competitor, hell I have been retired for years now. But Homicide you couldn't take no for an answer. You couldn't accept the facts and what did you do? You backed me into a corner, you attacked friends of mine in the business, you verbally attacked me and my legacy so I gave you the opportunity to face me. Now here we are, live on TV across the world. Millions are watching, they've been waiting for this moment all night. So let's cut to the chase. We both know how this is going to go, we both know this isn't going to end civil. So instead of continuing to beat around the bush, I'm going to sign my name on the dotted line right now, and you're going to bring your ass down to this ring and we are going to give these fans a preview of Survival of the Sickest!
( Mick Foley then tossed the microphone to the side, grabbed the pen off the top of the contract, flipped the pages and wrote his name on the dotted line, making his match with Homicide at Survival of the Sickest official on his part. Foley then tossed the pen and contract to the mat and flipped over the table and tossed the chairs over the top rope to the floor. Foley then kicked the contract to the center of the ring and began motioning for Homicide to come on down to the ring. He didn't have to wait long as Homicide's music began to play. Homicide appeared from behind the curtain and began making his way down the ramp. He stopped at the bottom of the ramp and grabbed a microphone off the steps and began to speak. )
“Homicide”: Before I step into that ring and sign that contract, I want you to understand what you are getting yourself into. See, yeah, I've been listening to you run your mouth in that locker room since the first day you arrived here. Telling the boys and the fans, you're not a wrestler anymore, you aren't here to get in the ring, you just want to help the young guys grow. I've heard it plenty times before and I'm sick to death of it. Here is a bit of news homes. You never were a wrestler to begin with, you were a man in the right place at the right time that got lucky. That was years ago, now, the future has caught up with you and your luck has run out.
( Homicide then slowly began making his way up the steps and into the ring. Foley looked ready for a fight but Homicide held his hands up for a moment, letting Foley know he didn't want a fight. Homicide then lowered his arms and began to speak again. )
“Homicide”: Foley, I knew the truth. I knew you couldn't stop yourself from stepping back into this ring and I knew exactly how to prove that. I'm Brooklyn through and through, I know no matter what you say as a man, if someone messes with your familia you defend them til death, your word is your bond and blood is blood. So what better way to make a man snap than by picking apart his boys one by one. You fell into the trap, you couldn't resist yourself and now look where we are. You can't wait to get your hands on me, and I can't blame you, but I can make you wait even longer, that is, unless you give me what I want. That's me and you, one on one, no rules, no pinfalls, no submissions, last man standing!
( Mick Foley shook his head in agreement and could be heard yelling you want it you got it! )
“Homicide”: Good, I'm glad you see it that way, I guess all that's left to do is sign the dotted line. But before I do that, I said earlier your luck had run out and I meant that. Next week, one last time, I'll face any friend you can dig up from the past and once again I'm going to show you what you are getting yourself into....... Better yet, how about I show you right now!
( Homicide quickly took a swing at Foley with the microphone but Foley ducked and began lighting Homicide up with right's and lefts to the face. Foley hit the ropes and charged back with a clothesline. Homicide hit the mat and immediately got to his feet but got caught with a boot to the gut, Foley hooked Homicide for the double under hook DDT but Homicide reversed out and caught Foley with a clothesline of his own that took Foley off his feet. Homicide then began delivering stomps to the chest and back of Foley as he rolled to the corner to try and protect himself. Homicide then began choking Foley with a boot to the throat before hitting the ropes and charging back with a flying knee to the face that sent Foley rolling out of the ring to the floor. Homicide followed Foley out to the floor and lifted him to his feet. Homicide attempted to whip Foley into the ring steps but Foley reversed and sent Homicide knee's first into the steps, causing Homicide to flip over the steps to the floor. Foley made his way around the steps and began nailing Homicide in the head with repeated right hands to the head of Homicide then busted out the trademark “Bang Bang” hand gesture. Foley then made his way around the ring to the announcers table where he grabbed a steel chair. Foley tossed the chair into the ring then made his way around to Homicide. Foley rolled Homicide into the ring and followed him inside but Homicide caught Foley with a low blow, bringing him to his knees. Homicide hit the ropes and connected with a boot to the side of the head then made his way over to the chair that Foley had tossed into the ring. Homicide stalked Foley for a moment then blasted Foley in the head with the chair as he got to his feet, Foley fell into the ropes and as he bounced off, Homicide again nailed Foley in the head with the chair. Foley again fell backwards into the ropes with his arms getting wrapped up between the top and middle rope, trapping him as blood began to pour from the forehead. Homicide looked at Foley then to the crowd and smirked for a moment before raising the chair up once again. Homicide paused and decided to toss the chair to the mat. He then began nailing Foley with repeated right hands to the forehead causing the blood to splatter across his fists and pour to the mat. Homicide got a sick grin on his face and walked over to the contract and grabbed the pen. Homicide returned to Foley and began to dig at the forehead of Foley as Foley screamed in pain. Homicide then lifed up the contract and began writing his name on the contract with the blood of Mick Foley. Homicide returned to Foley and began digging into his head once again with the pen. Referee's and officials then slid into the ring and began pulling Homicide away but it was too late. The damage had already been done. Homicide finished signing his name in the blood of Foley. The show faded off the air as paramedics began to check on Foley who was lying on the mat and Homicide posed in the center of the ring with the contract held high. )

( After the referee called for the bell, Hero, Doi, and Dragon all entered the ring to join CIMA. The referee raised all their hands in victory to a course of boo's from the crowd. Blood Generation stepped forward and posed for the camera for a moment before CIMA began talking trash into the camera. Meanwhile, behind them, Chris Hero lowered his elbow pad and began to wind up. CIMA finished speaking to the camera and began to laugh, then turned around into the KO Elbow from Chris Hero. Doi and Dragon turned around and saw what happened and immediately went after Hero but he was able to slide out of the ring before they could get their hands on him. The show faded to a commercial break as Hero backed up the ramp with him arm raised high. After a word from our sponsors at “K-Y”. We returned ringside for our next contest of the evening. “Bullet Club” members Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson made their way to the ring scheduled for tag team action with ACH and TaDarius Thomas but instead were interrupted by Jim Cornette's music. He along with every member from “The Empire” made their way down the ramp and into the ring. Gallows and Anderson stepped back towards the far corner sizing up everyone that was entering the ring but Cornette quickly began to speak. )
“Jim Cornette”: Calm down guys, we aren't out here tonight for a fight, instead we want to talk business. You see I understand right now The Empire and The Bullet Club have our problems, but there is two things we have in common, that's AJ Styles' World Championship and money.
( Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson both nodded their head in agreement as Jim Cornette continued. )
“Jim Cornette”: But unlike your leader Prince Devitt, I can always separate business from personal. Personally I hate The Bullet Club, but when it comes to business, I can smell money from a mile away and I can pick your scent up from across the globe. We are out here tonight to offer you a once in a lifetime opportunity. That's right, right here, right now, I'm offering you two the opportunity to make more money in a month than you have in the last year as apart of The Bullet Club, all you have to do is join us. Join The Empire!
( Anderson and Gallows look at each other for a moment and smile. Anderson nods his head at Cornette and motions for the microphone. Cornette smiles and graciously hands him the microphone. )
“Karl Anderson”: Mr. Cornette, that offer sounds great and all but before we take you up on your offer we have a question for you. If you think we are money, or worth so much money, why wasn't we offered an opportunity in this tournament to earn a shot to face AJ Styles for the World Heavyweight Championship at Survival of the Sickest?
“Jim Cornette”: Well....
“Karl Anderson”: Well, here is another question while your trying to think of an answer to the previous question. Why haven't myself and big man over here Doc been offered a shot at The Ascension and those World Tag Team Titles?
“Jim Cornette”: Well you see......
“Karl Anderson”: Well you see Jim, you, The Empire, and your offer can go straight to hell, because if you think for one second The Bullet Club, or anyone associated with The BizCliz is about selling out your mistaken! We are more than just a group of guys bound my hatred and money, we are a brotherhood. Your offer, its sweet, but The Club is too sweet!
“Jim Cornette”: I'm disappointed you two feel that way, but have to admit apart of me saw that coming. That's why I didn't come out here alone. You see, you might not respect me or my offer, but I can guarantee within the next five minutes that will change because we are about to beat some respect into you! Now get em' boys!
( The Empire then began to circle around Anderson and Gallows. Neither man waited for The Empire to make the first strike as Anderson quickly nailed Bennett with a forearm and Gallows nailed Dillinger. Anderson and Gallows then began trading blows with both members of The Ascension until Benjamin chop blocked the knee out from under Gallows. The Ascension was then able to hit Fall of Man on Anderson. It didn't take long after that for the lights to go out in the arena and The Bullet Club's music began to play. The lights came back on as The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Prince Devitt then hit the ring and an all out brawl broke out. Moments later, CIMA, Naruki Doi, and Dragon Kid made their way from the back and into the ring and jumped Prince Devitt, giving the numbers advantage to The Empire, but the advantage didn't last long as Chris Hero, John Morrison, and Ricochet come out and joined in the melee. Cornette stood on the outside, pacing back and forth, pulling at his hair until he finally had enough. He waved to the back until finally referees, road agents, and security made their way out from the back and into the ring to separate everyone. The crowd voiced their displeasure with Cornette's actions but Cornette wasn't finished. He grabbed a nearby microphone and began to speak. )
“Jim Cornette”: I don't give a crap what you fans think! And that's not all I don't give a crap about, lets get something straight right now, Chris Hero, Ricochet, John Morrison let me be perfectly clear with you, I run this company, I control who enters that ring, who enters this building and if you ever stick your nose in my business again, I will make sure you never work in my ring again if its the last thing I ever do!!!
( Jim Cornette tossed the microphone down and quickly joined the rest of The Empire on the ramp and made their way back to the locker room as the show faded to a commercial break from our sponsors at “Coors Light”. We then returned for our next match of the evening. )

Ki slipped a grin and went to grab Maria but Bennett grabbed her by the legs and pulled her out of the ring and both made their way around the ring and up the ramp as the show faded to a commercial break from our sponsors at “Coors Light”. When we returned we heard the music of Jim Cornette who began to make his way down the ramp and towards the ring. Once inside the ring he grabbed a microphone and began to speak. )
“Jim Cornette”: What a beautiful night it is! Not only is this the last night we will be in this dead beat, second rate New York City rip off city you people call Los Angeles but it is the night where you will see not just Michael Bennett but Shelton Benjamin continue their sweep in the Survival of the Sickest tournament. Now I know you LA educated morons are thinking how can they sweep the tournament when they will have to face each other in the finals to determine which man will face AJ Styles for the World Championship, but oh, don't you worry, ole James E. Cornette is always on his toes and we have a plan in place for that when it comes to pass. All you people really need to worry about is what will you do when your hero's get eliminated. But that's in two weeks, the purpose of me being out here is the present! Earlier today I was approached by a man that I have had a long history with, a man I absolutely hated and hoped I would never see again until we crossed paths today. This man approached me with an apology and not just an apology but begged me for my input on a certain situation going on not only in his life but in the life of every IWA fan across the world and me being the fine upstanding citizen I am, I couldn't stand by and do nothing. So I sent word out to a certain individual to meet me in this very ring tonight! So ladies and gentlemen let's not wait any longer, it is my honor to present to you....Mick...Foley!
( Mick Foley's music begins to play and he makes his way out onto the stage, cautiously. Foley looked around for a moment then made his way down the stage, looking at Cornette with a confused look on his face. Once inside the ring Foley grabbed a microphone from the producer nearby but before he could speak, he was cut off by Cornette. )
“Jim Cornette”: Mick, buddy, it's great to see you again. I have to admit, after our conversation earlier today, I was afraid you wouldn't come out and show your face to all the fans around the world watching IWA tonight but.....
“Mick Foley”: Jim, I really don't have any idea what you're talking about. To be honest with you, I think you're a complete jackass, and I believe I'm not the only one that feels that way, I'm almost certain everyone here in....Los Angeles feels the exact same way! So this meeting in the back earlier tonight that you're referring to, it wasn't with me, but I'm no fool, I have an idea who it was with, so why not cut to the chase, we both know this was some elaborate scheme to lure me out here so Homicide could get me in the ring, and that's fine by me but if we are going to do this, let's do it, right here, right now!
“Jim Cornette”: I give it to you Mick, you're not nearly as stupid as you look. It was Homicide who approached me earlier today, but I had hope that you off all people, would come out here and finally use that brain of yours for some good! But you always have to try to be in the spotlight, you wouldn't recognize a good idea if it reached up and smacked you in the mouth! I on the other hand do recognize good ideas, and as I've said hundreds of times before, I can smell money from a mile away and it's coming in hard down the jet stream! Me and Homicide will never completely see eye to eye but if there is one thing we can agree on, it's that IWA would be a much better place for both of us if you were long gone, and I'm going to do my part, because at Survival of the Sickest you and Homicide will go one on one in a Ghetto Street Fight, no rules, no count outs, no time limits, the only way to win is by pinfall or submission, whether it takes place in this ring, out there with those stinking engrates you call fans, or down the street next to the dumpster where you belong! And let me tell you something buddy, you want Homicide out here so bad, you got it! Sound guy, hit that music, lets get Homicide out here so he can take out the trash!
( Homicide's music began to play, Mick Foley immediately tossed the microphone to the mat and glared at Cornette for a moment. Gargano went for a second lionsault but this time Steen got his knee's up but Gargano landed on his feet and caught the legs and attempted to lock in the crosston crab but Steen used his leg strength to shove Gargano away. Steen got to his feet but Gargano caught him with an enzijiri kick, Gargano leaped up to the second rope and leaped off, attempting the inverted reverse STO but Steen caught him and lifted him up in the package neckbreaker across the knee. Gargano, obviously hurt, rolled around the ring, trying to stay away from Steen. Gargano eventually pulled himself up using the ropes and nailed Steen with a forearm to the face before bouncing off the ropes and getting caught with the pop up powerbomb from Steen, who rolled Gargano backwards up to his feet and nailed him with the package piledriver! The referee quickly dropped down and made the 1...2...3!
Winner: Kevin Steen via pinfall
( After the referee called for the bell he attempted to raise the arm of Kevin Steen in the air but he pulled away and went to the turnbuckle and posed for a moment as the show faded to a commercial break. After a word from our sponsors at “Right Guard” we returned back to ringside where the music of IWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles begin to play. AJ made his way out onto the stage to a huge ovation from the Chicago crowd and he is dressed to compete. He made his way down the ramp and into the ring where he posed with his championship for a moment before grabbing a microphone and speaking to the audience. )
“AJ Styles”: First things first, I just want to say thank you, not just to you people here tonight, but everyone watching around the world. Thank you for not turning your back on me, because I know I haven't been here as much as I should but I think you all know why. Yes, I was injured at the last pay per view event, but the doctor cleared me to compete weeks ago, but a certain someone in the locker room wouldn't allow me at the events, threatening me day in and day out, telling me, if I show up he is going to strip me of my World Championship, hell, this isn't just my championship, this is OUR championship! I hated being away from you people but I thought I was doing what was best for us by not allowing the most prestigous championship in our business to fall into the hands of a snake like Jim Cornette or his cronies in The Empire. Maybe it took too long, but sitting at home, I realized, it didn't matter what Cornette had to say, or what Cornette threatened me with, what matters is making you fans happy each and every night, and I know what you people want to see right here, tonight! So that brings me to why I'm out here tonight in my wrestling gear. I'm sick and tired of all the talking, Cornette! I think it's time we give these people what they paid their hard earned money for, that's a fight!
( The Empire's music begins to play and Jim Cornette lead's the group out onto the stage. They form a line across the stage and Cornette approaches Shelton Benjamin. They exchange laughs and Shelton asks for the microphone and begins to speak. )
“Shelton Benjamin”: AJ Styles, I know we've never properly met but let me give you a recap of what has been going on around here. Up until about a month ago you were recognized as the greatest athlete to ever step foot into a ring here in IWA, well you are looking at a real All-American athlete, the golden standard when it comes to professional wrestling. I know you've been laid up on the couch at home eating potato chips watching IWA Slam every week and you know when I say I'm going to do something, I deliver! I've racked up two victories in the Survival of the Sickest Tournament, and this Sunday I'm two more victories away from getting what's rightfully mine, and that's a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.
“AJ Styles”: You are right about one thing, and thats this; I have been watching the show from home each and every week. I've been keeping my eye on this tournament, and the problems The Empire have been causing every week and tonight was no different. Shelton Benjamin, if you can make it past your next two matches I look forward to stepping into the ring with you and defending my championship against you, but that's if you can make it past your next two matches. You see this isn't some watered down soap opera on a monday or thursday night, you are with the cream of the crop now. The men and women that are apart of IWA are apart of the elite competition in the world, not just the United States, but the best Japan, Europe, Mexico, and every other country in the world has to offer. Here lately you've got a taste of some of best Japan has to offer but what about men like Chris Hero, Ricochet, Colt Cabana and Kevin Steen? Some of America's top talents. Here is an even bigger question for you, what happens if it's you taking on the man standing next to you, Michael Bennett?
“Jim Cornette”: AJ Styles, don't you worry about what is going to happen this Sunday when my two men make it to the final round. You see, all you need to worry about is whats this “snake” going to do tonight. You can call me a snake if you want, but I'm still a fair man. There are problems here in IWA that I need to address and I'm going to do so right now. The first problem has been brewing for months and I hope after this Sunday night that issue will be solved because I'm making it official, for the first time in IWA history, CIMA will finally get his match and go one on one with Jushin “Thunder” Liger! Now, the second problem the issues between Homicide and Mick Foley are finally coming to an end at Survival of the Sickest when they do battle in the Ghetto Street Fight, now I know the deal I cut with Homicide and this is the match he wanted, but I want to get something out of this as well, you see, Mick Foley, you losing isn't good enough for me, I want you out of my life for good! So the match will officially read “Loser Get's Fired, Ghetto Street Fight”! Now, finally to address happened earlier tonight and every since then I can't turn around without someone asking me what I'm going to do. That problem is between Prince Devitt and Chicago's own Colt Cabana! You see The Empire decided they wanted to go ringside and scout out potential competition in the upcoming rounds of the Survival of the Sickest tournament but Cabana and Devitt just couldn't keep their hands to themselves. My men were provoked and were left with no choice but to defend themselves, I can't help that the rules state that the winner advances to the next round. So with that being said, since there was no winner, BOTH Prince Devitt and Colt Cabana have been eliminated from the tournament!
“AJ Styles”: Are you ki......
“Jim Cornette”: AJ, AJ, before you get carried away over something that doesn't concern you, let's address something that does concern you. You said you come out here tonight to give these people what they wanted, and I believe you said that was a fight. Well quiet frankly these people can't decide on what size underwear to put on, so I don't know why you'd even think they know what would be best for business. But if you want a fight then so be here, here comes your opponent.
( Jim Cornette begins laughing as Tye Dillinger steps forward and begins to walk down the ramp, AJ jumps up and down in the ring, hyping himself up but pauses as Michael Bennett begins heading down the ramp, shortly behind them, The Ascension fall in line, followed by Shelton Benjamin. It didn't take long for all of The Empire to surround the ring but AJ Styles wasn't alone, The Bullet Club's music hit and they hit the ring to join AJ Styles. The Empire looked around at each other and for the first time they looked as though they weren't back down from the fight. Moments later everyone hit the ring and began brawling back and forth as the crowd went crazy. Homicide joined the fight to try and help the odds go in the favor of The Empire but Mick Foley began making his way down to the ring with a chair. Once he slid into the ring Tye Dillinger got caught with a chair shot to the back that sent him through the ropes to the floor. Foley took a swing at Bennett's head but he ducked but ducked into superkicks from The Young Bucks. Gallows and Anderson took out The Ascension with clotheslines over the top rope to the floor. Just as things seemed to be calming down Colt Cabana come walking out from the back slowly. He slowly made his way around the ring, and up behind Jim Cornette. He grabbed Cornette by the shirt collar and Cornette immediately started shaking, trying to break lose and begging Cabana to let him go. Cabana refused and rolled Cornette into the ring where he was grabbed up by AJ Styles and placed in position for The Styles Clash. Cabana rolled in as The Empire surrounded the ring again trying to reach in to get Cornette but The Bullet Club and Mick Foley held everyone off. AJ asked the crowd if they wanted to see it and the place went crazy. AJ smiled though and instead of lifting Cornette into the air he spun him around to Cabana. Colt Cabana didn't hesitate as he yelled “this is for tonight from me, Devitt, and the fans”. Cabana lifted Cornette into the air and nailed him with Colt45 and the fans went crazy as the rest of The Empire lost their minds on the floor. Foley and AJ then lifted up the motionless body of Jim Cornette and tossed him through the ropes into the arms of Michael Bennett and Tye Dillinger. The Empire yelled for help as The Bullet Club, Mick Foley, AJ Styles, and Colt Cabana all posed in the center of the ring., including a quick staredown and handshake between Devitt and Styles. The show faded to a commercial break as EMT personel made their way out onto the stage to aid Cornette. After a brief word from our sponsors at “Just For Men” we returned ringside for our main event of the evening. )
5. Survival of the Sickest 2nd Round Match Kenny Omega vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Omega made his way out onto the stage with all the fellow Bullet Club members but stopped them at the top of the stage, out of respect to Nakamura he sent them all to the back after throwing up the “BizCliz” hand gesture. The match started off intense with a lock up that saw both men jocking for position and eventually rolling out to the floor, around the ringside area and back into the ring with neither man letting go of the lock up. Finally Nakamura broke the lock up and slapped Omega so hard blood flew out of his mouth. Nakamura smiled as Omega fired back with a back hand of his own. Nakamura's smile quickly turned to a serious look and both men began trading kicks to the thighs until Nakamura fired up with a quick combination of kicks to the thigh, chest, a spinning back kick that sent Omega crashing face first to the mat then a running baseball slide to the face. Nakamura went for the cover but only got a two count. Both men got to their feet and circled for a moment before going for a lock up again, this time Omega slipped behind Nakamura in a go behind, tripped the legs out from under him, walked across his back and head, hit the ropes, nailed Nakamura with a shoulder tackle as he got to his feet, step over, this time Nakamura went to all four's, in an attempt to trip Omega up but instead Omega turned it into a mahistrole cradle for a two count. Both men again quickly got to their feet and Omega caught Nakamura with an uppercut, but Nakamura shook it off, smiled, and nailed Omega with an uppercut that sent him staggering into the ropes. Omega fired back with another, as did Nakamura. Omega then switched things up and connected with a hard chop, Nakamura responded with multiple chops of his own until Omega finally had the opportunity to duck one. Nakamura turned around and went for another chop but Omega screamed for him to stop. Nakamura paused as Omega did a martial arts pose. Nakamura laughed but Omega nailed him with the Flash Man's Time Stopper enzijiri kick that sent Nakamura through the ropes and to the floor. Nakamura slowly made his way to his feet as Omega hit the ropes and leaped to the top rope with a flying senton onto Nakamura. Omega got to his feet and celebrated with the fans for a moment before grabbing Nakamura and rolling him back inside. Omega slid in and went for the cover but barely got the two count. He got to his feet and pulled Nakamura up with him and whipped him into the ropes, Omega leaped up for a hurricanrana but Nakamura turned it into a powerbomb and floated over into a jacknife pin but only got the two count. Nakamura pulled Omega to his feet and connected with a chop before whipping him into the ropes, Omega ducked a clothesline attempt, turned around and got caught in an inverted powerslam but again Nakamura only got the two count. Nakamura attempted to lock in the front sleeper but Omega turned it into a northern lights suplex for a two count. Omega and Nakamura crawled towards the ropes and pulled themselves up to their feet. Nakamura back into the corner as Omega charged in, Nakamura sent Omega up and over to the ring apron and turned around into a step up kick from the apron that sent Nakamura backwards. Omega then connected with a springboard dropkick, he got to his feet and looked down at Nakamura then to the fans and pointed to the top rope. He slingshotted himself up to the top rope and attempted the 450 splash but Nakamura got the knees up. Nakamura got to his feet as Omega staggered around the ring holding his mid-section. Omega finally turned around, facing Nakamura and got caught with a boot to the gut and Nakamura followed up with the double underhook piledriver for the 1...2...NO! Nakamura argued with the referee for a moment over the count before springboarding to the second, then top rope for the moonsault but Omega rolled out of the way and Nakamura landed on his feet. Nakamura stalked Omega as he pulled himself to his feet and finally hooked him for a German suplex but Omega rotated over and landed on his feet. Omega then leaped into the air, leapfrogging Nakamura and catching him with the Kotaro Krusher bulldog. Omega pulled Nakamura into position and made his way to the top rope and connected with a Shooting Star Press but only got a two count! Omega couldn't believe the referee's count and argued it should have been a three but the referee wouldnt change his mind on the count. The distraction allowed Nakamura enough time to regain some strength and catch Omega with a kick to the side of the head as he bent over to lift him up. Nakamura got to his feet and hit the ropes, charging back at Omega but Omega caught him in an abdominal stretch. Omega synched it in as Nakamura reached for the ropes, hoping for a way to avoid tapping out. Nakamura couldn't reach the ropes but instead found the strength to eventually hip toss Omega over and out of the hold. Omega got to his feet and made his way towards Nakamura but Nakamura snatched the leg out from under Omega and dropped a knee to the inside of the knee of Omega, then turned a step over toe hold into a sharpshooter. Omega screamed in pain but refused to tap when the referee checked on him. Omega found the strength to push himself up off the mat and slowly crawl towards the ropes but just as he was in arms length of the ropes Nakamura pulled him back out to the center of the ring and sat down on the back of Omega, wrenching his knee's even more. Omega screamed in pain but still, refused to tap out! Omega looked to be on the verge of passing out when he somehow found it in him to reach back and grab the foot of Nakamura and pull it out from under him. Omega pulled himself up to his knees as Nakamura landed on his stomach. Omega twisted the legs up of Nakamura and pulled himself to his feet, transitioning himself from being in the sharpshooter to having the sharpshooter locked in on Nakamura. Nakamura yelled in pain as Omega synched in the hold on him! Nakamura refused to tap as well, and eventually mad it to the ropes forcing Omega to have to release the hold. Both men slowly got to their feet and Omega connected with a superkick out of nowhere that sent him crashing to his knees as Nakamura fell backwards into the ropes then charged across the ring and nailed Omega with the Boma Ye knee strike to the back of the head and both men were out. The referee initated the ten count and reached the count of 9 before Nakamura got an arm across the chest of Omega. The referee started the count but Omega got his foot on the ropes just before the count of three. Both men used each other to pull themselves to their knees and began trading forearms as the crowd began to get louder and louder. They got to their feet, where Nakamura finally fired up with shots to the body and head before attempting a spinning back fist but Omega ducked and connected with a release dragon suplex, then pulled Nakamura up and nailed a bridging half nelson suplex but only got a two count! Omega got to his feet and did the martial arts pose once again before nailing Nakamura with the Hadouken doube palm strike to the chest as he got to his feet. Nakamura immediately got back to his feet and ducked a spinning roundhouse kick from Omega and turned him inside out with a lariat. Nakamura slowly climbed on top of Omega and went for the cover but managed to only get a two count! Nakamura got to his feet and slid his thumb across his throat and pulled Omega up with him, tossing him onto his shoulder's for the Death Valley Driver but Omega slid down his back, to his feet. Nakamura caught him with an elbow to the face then went for a go behind but Omega caught Nakamura with an elbow to the face as well. Omega charged up the ropes, backflipped over Nakamura, landing on his feet. Nakamura charged into the ropes and attempted to springboard to the top and moonsault over Omega but Omega ran up behind Nakamura, catching him in an electric chair and connected with the Croyt's Wrath bridging German suplex for the 1...2...3!

( After the match The Young Bucks and Jushin Liger made their way out to the ring to help both men in the ring back to their feet. After a few moments of both men recovering they met in the center of the ring and shared a handshake before Nakamura raised Kenny Omega's arm in victory. The Young Bucks then hoisted Kenny Omega onto their shoulder's to celebrate his victory as the show faded off the air. )
