Dark Match: Chris Jericho vs Booker T
The Chris Jericho/Booker T standard dark match routine to work the crowd up. Jericho heels it up massively, Booker gets a huge pop when he starts to punish Jericho, Jericho cheats to make a comeback, the match goes back and forth for a while, before Jericho picks up the win with a roll-up, incensing the crowd and making them eager to see other hated heels get beaten later in the night. Goes down as well as ever.
Winner: Chris Jericho

Scott Norton vs Konnan
Norton's power puts him in control at the start, as he spends the first part of the match wearing Konnan down, before going for some more high impact offence. Konnan mounts a comeback, however, punishing Norton first with punches and kicks, then working up to suplexes and basic lucha offence. Buff Bagwell from outside the ring, trips Konnan up, allowing Norton to go back on the offence by laying the boots to him. Bagwell endeavours to enter the ring, and the referee heads over to stop him. Norton uses this distraction to remove the padding from the top turnbuckle, before picking Konnan up and powerbombing him onto the exposed steel. Konnan appears to have been knocked unconscious by the blow, and is easy pickings for Norton to pin once Bagwell convieniantly stops trying to enter the ring.
Winner: Scott Norton

WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Billy Kidman (Champion) vs Rey Misterio Jr.
The match begins with a quick trading of armdrags, headscissors, hiptosses and other low impact throws. Kidman, being slightly slower than Misterio, opts to bring the match to the ground as soon as possible, and utilises basic submissions to ground Misterio. Misterio's felxibilty and dexterity allow him to twist out of a texas cloverleaf, the first advanced submission Kidman tries, and Misterio hits a quick succession of kicks and strikes on the champion.
Kidman is sent staggering, and is quickly dropkicked over the top rope. Misterio hits the opposite ropes, and comes back with a suicide dive, but Kidman is able to leap into the air and catch Misterio mid air with a dropkick, popping the crowd. Kidman rolls back into the ring, and waits, hoping for Misterio to be counted out. To Kidman's display, he makes it back in at seven. Kidman stomps on Misterio as he tries to re-enter the ring properly, then drops to the outside himself, leaving Misterio lying on the apron. He grabs Misterio by the legs, and swings him violently into the guardrail. He then scales the apron and delivers a dropkick to Misterio as he uses the guardrail to stand. Misterio is whipped towards the steps, but manages to jump over them, avoiding a nasty collision. Misterio rolls back inside, as does Kidman, both narrowly avoiding the count.
Misterio unleashes a flurry of chops on Kidman's chest, before switching to all out punching Kidman into the corner. Told to stop, he backs off, and comes back with a handspring elbow. With Kidman doubled over in the corner, Misterio goes running and comes out with a tornado DDT, bringing Kidman's head crashing into the mat at a vicious angle. Misterio bounces up to the second rope, from which he delivers a moonsault which earns him a two count. He drags Kidman a little away from the turnbuckle, and climbs to the top to go for a top rope moonsault. Kidman rolls away at the last moment, and Misterio connects only with the mat. Kidman catches him with a shining wizard as he tries to stand. He then heads up top, looking for a shooting star press. Misterio is able to lurch to his feet, however, and lunges desperately at the ropes, causing Kidman to lose his balance. As he regains it, Misterio leaps up, and delivers a top rope rana for the three count.
Winner, and new WCW Cruiserweight Champion: Rey Misterio Jr.
After the match, Rey clutches at the title he has spent most of the year hunting with pride and joy. He then lifts it above his head and moves to each corner of the ring, holding the belt up in celebration.

Larry Zybysko vs Goldberg
Zybysko looks like a lamb lead to the slaughter on his way to the ring. When Goldberg makes his entrance, he all but crawls into a fetal position. Goldberg relishes his fear, playing his Zybysko by pretending to lunge for him, causing Zybysko to jump back.
Zybysko tries to make a break for it, rolling under the bottom rope, but Goldberg chases him, and hurls him back into the ring. Goldberg heads back in after him, and drops him with a clothesline. Zybysko is pulled up, lifted in the air for a vertical suplex, and held upside down while Goldberg parades all around the ring with his catch before he is dumped down forcefully, not even suplexed, just dropped on his face. Goldberg plants a swift and cruel kick in Zybysko's ribs, leaving him curled up on his side. He draws his leg back for another, but pulls away, enjoying Zybysko's fear. He waits for Zybysko to stand, and superkicks him when he does. He then seems to tire of the game, and waits again for Zybysko to stand. He charges forwards for a spear, but Zybysko ducks. Goldberg's spear sails straight past Zybysko, bringing him shoulder first into the ring post.
Zybysko desperately attacks the body part with kicks and punches until pulled off by the ref. Zybysko then shrugs, goes outside, and fetches a chair, figuring that putting GOldberg away is worth a disqualification. Flair commends this tactic from the announce desk. The referee argues with Zybysko, trying to pry the chair from him, and Goldberg makes it back to his feet during this time. Zybysko pushes the ref away, little realising that Goldberg has been squatting for a spear this whole time. As soon as the ref is out of the way, Goldberg smashes forcefully into Zybysko's ribs, driving the air out of him, and bringing the chair clattering harmlessly to the ground. The ref is on his feet in time to count the pinfall on an extra-vicious Jackhammer. After the match, Goldberg goes to the discarded chair, and blasts Zybysko with it before tossing it carelessly from the ring.
Winner: Goldberg
Crowd: 85% Quality: 63% Overall: 78%
Raven's Rules: Raven and Perry Saturn vs Rick Rude and Chris Benoit
Benoit's lethal array of strikes punish Raven at the start of the match, while Saturn uses his deceptive speed to easily outmanoeuvre Rude. Saturn and Benoit then go at it, appearing an even match until Raven jumps Benoit from behind. Both Raven and Saturn work Benoit over until Rude makes the save, dishing out quick fire punshes to both men, sending them staggering. Rude clotheslines Saturn over the ropes, his own momentum carrying him over too. The two begin to brawl outside, a brawl that is interrupted by Benoit belly-to-bellying Raven to the outside, and onto them. Benoit then goes running, and planchas out onto all three men as they stand.
Saturn is grabbed by the head, which Benoit then smashes against the ringpost, apron and guardrail, before leaning him against the guardrail and punishing him with chops. Meanwhile Raven and Rude trade punches until Raven drops Rude with a headbutt. Raven stomps away at Rude, holding onto the guardrail to choke Rude with his foot. Raven then goes under the ring and fetches a chair, which he uses to blindside Benoit. Rude gets to his feet in time to take a shot himself. Raven slides the chair into the ring, then does the same to Rude. Saturn is called over from laying the boots to Benoit to help. He keeps Rude in a choke hold while Raven sets up the chair in the middle of the ring and stands next to it. Saturn picks Rude up, and whips him towards Raven, who drop toe holds him into the chair. A cover gets two.
Benoit finds his feet and stumbles towards the apron, where he pulls Saturn's feet out from under him. He then delivers a release belly-to-belly suplex that hurls Saturn back first into the guardrail. Saturn writhes in pain as Benoit slides inside and engages in a brawl with Raven. Benoit gets the better of the brawl, and underlines his dominance with a trio of german suplexes, which earns two. Rude and Benoit pull Raven up and double suplex him. Rude then holds Raven still for Benoit to hit him with a running chair shot. Raven ducks at the last second, however, and the chair smashes into Rude's head. Saturn manages to slide into the ring, and turns Benoit around, nailing him with a superkick. Raven picks Rude up, and delivers a Raven Effect DDT, before covering for three.
Winners; Raven and Saturn
Crowd: 82% Quality: 88% Overall: 85%
After the match, Raven and Saturn pose and celebrate up the ramp while Flair comments that he believes it to be a mere matter of time before they wear gold again. Once they're gone, Benoit and Rude begin to reach their feet. Benoit is up first, and extends a hand to help Rude up. Rude accepts, and is pulled up. Having gotten Rude to his feet, Benoit turns to leave. Rude leans down, and takes the chair Benoit accidentally hit him with, and smashes it into the back of Benoit's head. Benoit drops, and Rude stands over him, delivering many more chair shots, leaving Benoit's face a bloody mess. Rude leaves Benoit down and bloodsoaked in the middle of the ring.

WCW United States Title Match: Sid Punishment (Champion) vs Rowdy Roddy Piper
Piper starts with a furious assault of punches, kicks and cheap shots, which briefly overwhelms Sid. Sid eventually manages to start getting shots in himself, and quickly turns the tide. Once he has the offensive, it is impossible for Piper to claim it back, try though Piper does. Piper is impressive for the sheer amounts of brutality he proves able to endure, kicking out after being thrown all around the ring, after recieving a running big boot, after taking a chokeslam. Eventually, a Powerbomb puts Piper away for three. After the match, Sid continues to attack Piper, but is so focussed on this that he does not notice someone come charging down the ramp with a chair in his hand. Davey Boy Smith rolls in, and blasts Sid repeatedly and furiously with the chair, toppling the champion. Smith then goes to Piper, and help him to the back, his gaze lingering for a moment on the United States title as he does.
Winner, and still WCW United States Champion: Sid Punishment

Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WCW Tag Team Titles: Megapowers (Champions) vs Outsiders
The crowd are red hot for the entrances of both challengers and champions. The two teams stand proud in the centre of the ring, neither backing down from two years of history, as they prepare to come to blows over tag gold.
Hall pairs off with Hogan, leaving Nash to pair off with Savage. Hogan and Nash each get the better of their smaller opponents through sheer brute strength, and turn to face each other. Their brawl takes them outside the ring, where various foreign object shots are employed. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Hall and Savage engage in a more standard wrestling match. The clumsy, simple brutality of Nash and Hogan is replaced with a crisper style of combat, although still one driven by animosity.
On the outside, Nash attempts to Jacknife Hogan, having gotten the best of their brawl. Hogan backdrops Nash out, however, and throws ringsteps at him, downing the big guy. Back inside, Savage has worn Hall down, and has gone briefly outside for a table. He's brought it in, and set Hall up on it, before climbing to the top rope for an elbow drop. Hall rolls off in time to catch Savage on the ascent, however, and superplex Savage through the table. Hall covers, but Hogan pulls him out of the ring by the legs.
Hogan irish whips Hall into the ringpost, Hall bounces off it and staggers away, bleeding from the head. Hogan follows Hall with punches to the head. Nash, meanwhile, recovers, and rolls inside himself to cover Savage, only earning a two count.
Hall turns the tide on Hogan with a rake to the eyes, and begins to choke him by holding his neck down against the top of the steel guardrail. Back in the ring, Savage low blows Nash as a counter to a Jacknife powerbomb, then slumps to his knees, the table superplex having taken a lot out of him.
Hall goes for a chair, and wears Hogan out against the guardrail with it, until Savage comes out and attacks Hall from behind with fists, before dragging him over to the thrown ring steps, and suplexing him back first onto them.
Savage is laying the boots into Hall, when Nash rolls outside and attacks him from behind, even managing to Jacknife powerbomb him on the outside. He's about to cover when attacked from behind by a bloody Hogan. Hogan is in turn lariated by Hall, who then hurls him into the ring. As Hogan struggles to his feet, Hall comes off the top rope with a double axe handle, dropping Hogan again. Hall pulls Hogan up and delivers an Outsider's Edge, covering for a three count.

Last Man Standing Match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Sting (Champion) vs Lex Luger
Another title match with a lot of history. The two begin their fight in the ring, and Luger has the advanatge from the start, working Sting over with high impact slams and painful looking submissions. Sting eventually mounts a comeback, however, and manages to toss Luger over the top rope. He then ascends the top turnbuckle and planchas out onto Luger.
Outside the ring, the two trade punches as they reach their feet, an exchange Luger wins when he low blows Sting. He then goes for a chair, and starts to wear Sting out with it, before whipping Sting towards the guardrail. Sting reverses the whip however, sending Luger hurtling into the guardrail, where Sting follows him with a Stinger Splash, crushing him against it. He then subjects Luger to vicious chops, which Luger tries to escape, heading up the ramp.
On the ramp, Sting grabs at a discarded chair, and beats Luger all the way up. At the top of the stage, Luger ducks a chair shot, and manages to perform Sting's own 'Scorpion Death Drop' on the steel stage, earning a 6 count before Sting gets to his feet. Luger grabs Sting by the head, and smashes him against the screen and pillars at the top. Sting staggers desperately away, ending up by the edge of the ramp. Luger charges for a clothesline, but Sting drops his head at the last second, and manages to back drop Luger out of instinct, popping the crowd when the backdrop sends Luger off the edge of the stage, through electrical equipment below. The referee counts, and it reaches Ten. Sting has retained his title against Luger, but by the narrowest of margins.

News Update: Another recognisable face gone from WCW! We here at Wrestlecircle have just confirmed that Diamond Dallas Page has, in fact, been released. Despite getting into the business relatively late, Diamond Dallas Page has shown tremendous potential, and has grown a great deal since he started, rewarding faith shown in him. The former United States champion has been taking on a diminishing role this year however, and recently requested his release, which was given to him. It is thought he will try his hand over in the WWF.
