TNA 2005-2006
Alright, so this is my first attempt writing a diary. I’m basically playing as TNA, starting from August of 2005. I’m currently in June of 2006. I’m just going to provide some background information as to what I’ve done in the game so far.
-Raven started out the game as the NWA World Champ. He held it until January and successfully defended it against challengers such as Rhino and Jeff Jarrett, even defending in TNA’s first Hell in a Cell match at Final Resolution against Jarrett. He lost the belt to Christopher Daniels at the imaginatively named “Fatal 4 Way” PPV in a 4 way dance (Surprise!) that also featured Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. Daniels is the current world champ and has fended off challenges from Steve Corino and Raven. He is currently scheduled to face Jeff Hardy at the Slammiversary PPV.
-During his feud with Raven, Daniels began preaching about how was going to lead his “followers to the prophecy land.” His first follower was revealed as Austin Aries, who interfered in the World Title match at the F4W PPV and allowed Daniels to win the belt. His second follower was revealed as Sean Waltman (formerly known as X-Pac), who turned on his partner Raven during a tag team match against Aries and Daniels on an episode of “IMPACT!” Daniels would call his group of followers “The New Flock”, mostly to mock Raven. Since the group has formed, it has brought havoc & chaos on the TNA locker room. Waltman has managed to win the X-Division championship from Bryan Danielson and Aries is currently gunning after AJ Styles and his newly won T.V. Championship.
-The Backseat Boys are the current Tag Team Champions. They won the belts from the Enigmatic Truth, the tag team of Ron “The Truth” Killings and “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy. The Backseat Boys are basically the most unlikeable douchebags you could ever meet and pretty much have no respect for anything. They even claim that the only reason they want to be the champs is because being the champs means “more money, more liquor and more p***y” (their words, not mine). They are also willing to do anything and everything to retain the belts. Their main challengers at the moment are the Naturals, Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens.
-Jeff Jarrett is running around being his egotistical self , claiming that he is the “Chosen One” and is the measuring stick in the business (Jarrett denies claims that he stole this line from a certain player of “The Game” in Stamford.) He is hired the Dudley Boys, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley, to be his security. He is also taken a young man by the name of Chris Hero under his wing, claiming that he is the future of this business. Jarrett is currently feuding with Bryan Danielson, who he lost to on the recent “Hard Justice” PPV.
-CM Punk and his buddy/lackey Colt Cabana showed up in TNA in late August of 2005 with the ROH Heavyweight Championship around his waist. He had left ROH and, due to him still being their World Champion, took the belt with him. Rumors were that Punk was originally going to sign with WWE but he instead decided to sign with TNA claiming, “I am going to prove that I am can be a god of wrestling even in a cesspool fun land like Orlando.” Despite Punk claiming that he had “the most prestigious championship in all of wrestling” and having defended it multiple times across the country, TNA officials refuse to recognize it as an official TNA championship. Punk had his first taste of sanctioned TNA gold when he became the first ever “TNA Television Champion” after defeating Chris Sabin in the finals of a tournament. He recently lost the championship to AJ Styles at the “Hard Justice PPV”.
-TNA used to run solely out of the IMPACT! Zone in Orlando, FL but since becoming a global promotion, has taken it shows on the road. TNA has also gained a new TV deal with MTV2 that allowed them to create “Xplosion!” which is mainly used as a B-level show for the lower-card wrestlers. TNA is currently the #1 promotion in the wrestling world.
Hmmm… I think that’s about it in terms of Background Information.

Current Feuds
Christopher Daniels V. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy recently won a battle royal to challenge Daniels for the NWA World Championship at “Slammiversary-4 years strong”.
Steve Corino V. CM Punk
Corino has just recently come off of unsuccessfully challenging Daniels for the World Championship. Punk has just come off losing the TNA Television Championship. Punk is looking to regain some momentum by defeating the former #1 contender to the World Championship.
Jeff Jarrett V. Bryan Danielson
Danielson challenged Jarrett to a match at Hard Justice last month. Danielson won but was then brutally attacked by Jarrett & Bubba Ray Dudley (D-Von was injured at the time). Randy Orton V. Raven Orton attacked Raven on the last episode of IMPACT! Orton claims that he is going to kill the legend that is Raven.
Kid Kash V. Jerry Lynn
Just a basic singles feud between the two. They faced off on the HJ PPV and Kash won via a rollup with a handful of tights.
Samoa Joe V. Edge
After losing to AJ Styles at the “Destination X” PPV in March, Joe was somewhat put on the backburner, mostly wrestling on “Xplosion!” in squash matches and only making the occasional appearance on IMPACT! Meanwhile, Edge debuted in January and went into a high profile feud with Jeff Jarrett which he won when he defeated him in a steel cage match at “Lockdown.” The Impact after Lockdown, Joe attacked Edge during his match with Rhino and absolutely brutalized him. Joe says he’s tired of being pushed to sideline for “WWE Castaways” and since nobody is giving him an opportunity, he is just going to take it.
Chris Sabin V. Sean Waltman
Waltman defeated Bryan Danielson for the X-Division Championship at “Lockdown”. After defeating Danielson in a rematch on the following Impact, Waltman tried to put Danielson out indefinitely by crushing his throat with a chair but Sabin made the save. Sabin is gunning after Waltman’s title.
That’s about it. I am hoping to have my first show (the first Impact of June) up sometime next week. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Very cool mix of TNA/WWE/ROH guys from that era. Is the Punk/ROH Title story still going? Because that is the thing above all else that caught my eye reading about the storylines.

Yeah, it's still going. I kinda got side-tracked from due to the fact that Punk was busy defending the T.V. Championship but during this entire time, he is still carrying around the ROH Championship. Now that he's lost the T.V. title, the ROH title is definitely going to play a bigger role in the story lines.

This should be a good read. Great mix of talent, with a TON of younger guys getting the opportunity a good five years before they'd get noticed on a mainstream scale. Will be interesting to see how they perform with their stats gimped a bit based on timeline.
Brian J. Blottie - Also waiting for Sean Waltman to either get pissed off and bolt or fuck something up so badly with his attitude that you're forced to fire him.

Brian J. Blottie - Also waiting for Sean Waltman to either get pissed off and bolt or fuck something up so badly with his attitude that you're forced to fire him. LOL, yeah, I'm kinda suprised he's lasted this long and hasn't screwed up one of my main storylines. "am I the only person who likes Colt Cabana? In seemingly every diary he's a lackey/guy who gets his ass beat constantly " ^ I think the main reason for this is that it's SO easy to put him in the role. He just kinda has that lovable loser look to him and pretty much all of his friends are more successful than he is so...

Jed Shaffer ~By the way, good mixture of talent, decent storylines so far ... looking forward to the first show.

Yeah, Im just really bad at getting a handle on Cabana. I've been lost when it comes to things for him to do forever, his becoming a lackey to Punk was a last ditch effort to get some usefulness out of his Over rating.

TNA IMPACT! [84%] Live from Columbus, Ohio Attendance: 10,004
A huge explosion of fireworks goes off as “Adrenaline Rush” plays in the background. After the fireworks have subsided, the camera zooms around the arena and then cuts to the announce booth, which is stationed by Mike Tenay and Joey Styles.
Tenay: “Ladies and Gentleman, thank you for tuning into IMPACT! Tonight, we have a stacked card. Tonight, two of the top teams in TNA go head to head as The Dudley Boys are scheduled to face America’s Most Wanted. Also, the Television Championship will be defended tonight as ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles takes on ‘Double J’’ Jeff Jarrett. Will Jarrett be able to walk out of Ohio with championship gold around his waist once more or will AJ Styles manage to retain?”
Styles: “Also, CM Punk has requested T.V. time tonight in order to make an address. What does Mr. Punk have to say? “
Tenay: “Finally, in our Main Event tonight, #1 contender to the NWA Unified World Championship, Jeff Hardy is scheduled to face ‘The Canadian Destroyer’ Petey Williams. But first, let’s go to the ring for our first match of the night as The Naturals take on the MM Wrecking Crew.”
Segment 1- The Naturals V. The MM Wrecking Crew A somewhat short but sweet contest between these two teams. The Naturals are the #1 contender to the Tag Team Titles so a win here could go a long way in giving them some much needed momentum. The Naturals, being the smaller men in this match, waste no time in bringing the fight to the Crew and they bring it hard. A flurry of offense stuns the Crew as the Naturals use multiple tag team moves including hitting their signature “Natural High” (a running bulldog onto an elevated knee) on Magnus. The Naturals momentum is cut short when a hurricarana attempt by Douglas is turned into a power bomb by Monty Brown. From that point onward, the match is all the Crew as they just dominate Douglas, keeping him isolated from Stevens and making quick tags between themselves. Despite multiple power moves, however, Douglas refuses to stay down and manages to kick out of multiple pin attempts.
Eventually, Brown has had enough and signals to the crowd that he is going for his signature move, THE POUNCE (~!) He grabs Douglas, Irish-whips him into the ropes and Brown bounces off the perpendicular set of ropes. When Brown jumps and attempts to tackle Douglas, however, Douglas is able to barrel roll out of the way and makes the hot tag to Stevens! Stevens is house of fire coming in and proceeds to run wild on Brown and Magnus. Stevens even manages to hit a Death Valley Driver on Magnus. He makes the cover.
“1...2…” no! Brown breaks up the pin. At this point, Douglas gets involved in the match again and it breaks down into complete chaos. During the chaos, Brown once again tries to hit the pounce on Douglas but this time, Douglas ducks under him and Brown goes flying to the outside. Douglas then proceeds to dive outside onto Brown! Meanwhile, in the ring, Magnus attempts to hit Stevens with a reverse STO, which calls “MAGnificence”. Stevens is able to get in a couple of elbow to the side of the head and counters it into a small package.
“1…2…3!” The Naturals win it! The Naturals are in the ring celebrating their victory when the Backseat Boys attack them from behind. They stomp a mud hole in their future challengers and then raise their belts high to the booing from the crowd. Right before leaving, they spit on the fallen Naturals which causes the crowd to erupt in more booing. Johnny Kashmere tries to explain this action to the camera by saying “Hey, they worked up a sweat so we are just doing our part to help them cool down.” The Backseat Boys have sent a message to the Naturals! [***3/4]
Segment 2 We go TO THE BACK (~!) where Don West is prepared to interview the Sinister Minister, James Mitchell and his two clients/monsters, Rhino & Abyss.
West: “James Mitchell, your client, Abyss, defeated former World Champion Raven at ‘Hard Justice’ and in pretty decisive fashion. I have to ask, what are your groups plans going into the future?”
Mitchell: “Well, my Weapon of Mass Destruction, Abyss, is more destructive now than has ever been. He has left nothing but broken bodies and torn souls in his path. My Man-Beast Rhino, on the other hand, has been…disappointing to say the least recently.”
This comment sets Rhino off.
Rhino: “DISAPPOINTING?!” he screams, “What the hell is that supposed to mean?!”
Mitchell: “Well, Rhino look at Abyss. He is going around defeating former World Champions and destroying men with storied careers. He literally makes men know the definition of fear. You, on the other hand, have disappointed me time and time again. First, you failed to bring the World Championship to me. Then, you are defeated by Steve Corino. In fact, I can’t even remember the last time that you had a victory of any major significance that wasn’t caused by ME interfering on your behalf. Honestly, I think you’ve lost your edge.”
Rhino has look of pure rage on his face
Rhino: “LOST MY EDGE?! YOU THINK I’VE LOST MY EDGE?! You don’t think that I drive fear into the heart of every man who has the balls to face me in that ring?! You don’t think that I DESTROY literally anything, whether it be man, woman or child, that is in my path?! You don’t think that I can win the NWA Unified World Championship?! My losses to Raven were a fluke. Give me one match, ONE MATCH, with Christopher Daniels and I promise you that I’ll break him in half with a GORE, GORE, GOOOORE!!!”
Mitchell seems to be amused with Rhino’s intensity.
Mitchell: “Hmmm, big talk…shame that you have yet to have proven that you can back it up. In fact, your inability to come through in the clutch is the reason why I asked for this interview time. I have decided that perhaps Abyss can light a fire under you. Therefore, you two, from this point onward, will be a team.” Abyss nods silently.
Rhino: “A team?! I don’t need a partner!”
Mitchell: “Your win-loss record indicates otherwise. You have no say in the matter. The paperwork has been signed and you two are scheduled to start teaming up next week. Since you cannot fulfill my dreams of violence alone, my WMD will have to guide your hand like a child. See you next week Rhino.” With that, Mitchell and Abyss leave Rhino and Don West alone. Rhino stays behind for a minute, stewing in his own anger before snorting and storming off. [72%]
Segment 3 Kid Kash V. Ruckus
An interesting matchup here as the rookie Ruckus takes on the veteran Kid Kash. A very good match that sees Ruckus uses his lightning quick offense to take it to Kash. Kash tries to slow the pace of the match down but fails as Ruckus continues to use crowd-pleasing moves that stuns Kash and shows why Ruckus is one of the rising stars in TNA. Unfortunately for Ruckus, what Kash lacks in speed, he more than makes up for with “experience.” And by “experience”, of course I mean rule-breaking ability. A well placed thumb to the eye puts Kash in control of the match. Kash works over Ruckus for several minutes with Ruckus attempting to make a comeback multiple times but every time, Kash uses some other nefarious move to stay in control.
Finally, Ruckus is able to counter an attempt from Kash to come off the top rope with a dropkick which causes both men to be down. Kash is the first to his feet and he attempts to Irish-whip Ruckus but Ruckus cartwheels off the ropes and hits him with a spin kick. He then handsprings into a standing 450 splash! He makes a cover but only gets 2. Ruckus really starts to gain momentum and heads to second turnbuckle rope and hits an elbow drop. Cover but again only 2. The match goes on for a couple more minutes with Ruckus in control until the finish, which comes from Ruckus making a rookie mistake and attempting go for his signature 450 Splash off the top rope too early. Kash is able to roll out of the way towards the corner turnbuckle but Ruckus is able to roll through and attempts to clothesline Kash in the corner. Kash counters it and flapjacks Ruckus right onto the top turnbuckle. Ruckus’ stunned state allows Kash to kick him in the gut and hit the “Money Maker” (a double underhook pile driver) for the win. [***3/4]
Referee Mark Johnson attempts to raise Kash’s hand in victory but Kash pushes him away. He seems to be upset that he let a newbie like Ruckus almost beat him. Despite the ref’s protests, Kash lifts Ruckus up and puts him in position for another Money Maker. He would have hit it too, if it wasn’t for Jerry Lynn running down the ramp and making the save. Kash scatters at the site of his rival and bails through the crowd. Lynn checks on Ruckus while glaring at Kash. Lynn and Kash are scheduled to meet at Slammiversary.
Segment 4 The Dudley Boys V. America’s Most Wanted
The following match is a showcase between two of the top tag teams here in TNA. Both teams are former NWA Tag champs and a win for either team could be used to propel them up the tag ladder. An excellent match between these two teams despite the simple story that was told in the ring. America’s Most Wanted ran wild at first until a failed dive to the outside left Harris to be easy picking for the table breakers from Dudleyville. The Dudley’s wrestled smart, working over Harris and making quick tags. When Harris tried to make a tag to Storm, Bubba knocked Storm off of the apron, causing Harris to take even more of a beating. Eventually, Harris finally managed to get the hot tag to Storm. Storm ran wild and the match soon broke down into chaos. After a few near falls, The Dudley’s are able to hit the 3D on Storm and Bubba pins him for the win while Devon stops Harris from breaking it up. A surprisingly clean win for Jarrett’s bodyguards. [****1/2]
Segment 5 The music of the New Flock plays as Austin Aries makes his way down to the ring.
Joey Styles: “Why is Aries coming out? He isn’t scheduled for an interview.”
Tenay: “Well, I guess he’s hijacking the show. What does he have to say?”
Aries enters the ring and receives a microphone.
Aries: “When the New Flock formed, Christopher Daniels stated that it was our destiny to wear championship gold here in TNA. It was our goal to reach the fulfill the prophecy of us wearing all of the singles gold here in TNA and to lead this company to heights that peasants such as Raven and Steve Corino could never do. Our messiah has the crown jewel, the NWA Unified World Championship. My fellow disciple, Sean Waltman, has managed to save the X-Division championship from that heathen Bryan Danielson. That only leaves one belt. Last week, I let it be known that I want AJ Styles’ T.V. title when I attacked him after his match with Ruckus. It’s only a matter of time until that T.V. title is mine so, Commissioner Foley, You might as well waddle out here, make the match between me and AJ, or hell even Jarrett if he wins tonight, for Slammiversary so that the prophecy may be fulfilled and we can save all of these miserable people in the crowd sooner than later. Don’t fight destiny, Mr. Foley.” The comment about being miserable causes the crowd to start booing Aries heavily.
Aries is waiting in the ring for Foley to come out when music starts playing. Not Mick Foley’s music but instead, the music of…Ron Killings?
Killings comes out and dances and raps his way down to the ring, much to the enjoyment of the crowd and to the disgust of Aries. Killings makes it to the ring and gets a microphone for himself.
Killings: “Hey dog, I know I’m not who you were expecting but hear me out real quick. Now, my main man Jeff Hardy has cashed his ticket for Slammiversary and is going to be taking the title off of your punk leader. I’m happy for Jeff but something’s wrong here. A disturbance in the force if you will. The Truth isn’t scheduled for the PPV. Now, if you gonna have a celebration of this company’s founding, how are you NOT gonna have the Truth on that show, who’s been here since day one? It’s a shame but I came up with an idea to remedy this situation. It’s time for the Truth to get some singles gold around his waist once again. Now, Jeff’s got the World title situation under control but I can challenge for the T.V. championship. How many of yall in the crowd would like to see me and AJ Styles tear down the house at Slammiversary?” The crowd roars at this possibility.
Killings: “Or better yet, how many of yall would like to see me whoop that fool Jeff Jarrett at Slammiversary?” The crowd cheers even harder at this thought.
Aries: “Now that’s enough! I am destined to win that T.V. title and I know that some damn LL Cool J rip-off is not going to stop me from achieving my destiny. If anybody’s getting the shot at Slammiversary, It’s me!”
Killings looks like he is about say something else but he is interrupted by the music of Mick Foley. Foley walks out onto the ramp with a mike in hand.
Foley: “Well, well, well, it looks like we have a condrum on our hands. Both of you want a shot at the T.V. championship. I would like to remind you both that title shots are earned around here, not given. So, how about this? Next week on IMPACT!, it’s going to be Ron Killings versus Austin Aries with the winner facing the winner of Jarrett/Styles at Slammiversary for the T.V. Title. Does that satisfy you two?”
Killings immediately nods his head saying “Hell Yeah!” Aries, with some hesitation, begrudgingly shakes his head saying “That is acceptable.” Next week, Aries v. Killings, winner becomes #1 contender to the T.V. Title! [75%]
Segment 6 Raven Vs. Kip James
After messages from our sponsors, we go back to the ring for a match between former NWA champ Raven and Kip James. Raven is an even fouler mood than usual due to the fact that he was attacked from behind by Randy Orton last week. Kip James, since his partner BG James took a leave of absence for “personal problems”, has claimed that he has been overlooked by TNA officials and has demanded some competition. He did not expect that he would receive this competition in the form of a very pissed off Raven. The match is pretty much a slaughter from bell to bell. Kip James tries to fight, but any attempts at offense are shrugged off by Raven. Raven pretty much beat the crap of James before mercifully ending it with a Raven Effect for the 3 count. [**]
Almost immediately after the ending match bell rings, Randy Orton comes running through the crowd, enters the ring, and hits an RKO on Raven. Boos rain down upon Orton as Orton just cockily smirks down at Raven and points to his wrist as if it was a watch. Orton says “Raven, you got 16 days until you’re career is over and your name is just another footnote in my legacy.” He then does his signature Orton poses to the crowd as the fans just boo the hell out of Orton.
Segment 7 Chris Hero (w/Jeff Jarrett & the Dudleys) V. Edge
Up next is a matchup between the undefeated protégé of Jeff Jarrett, Chris Hero and the Rated R Superstar, Edge. The early goings of this match is very even as neither man is able to gain an advantage over the other. This leads to Jeff Jarrett trying to interfere by tripping Edge up when attempts to bounce off the ropes. He succeeds but does it in plain view of the ref. The ref makes the call to send Jarrett and the Dudleys to the back. Hero and his partners in crime complain at this decision while Edge is waving them goodbye and mouthing the “Na Na Na Na” goodbye song. Hero gets over his frustration and attacks Edge from behind while he is still talking to the departing bad guys. From this point onward, it’s a relatively fair one –on-one contest as Hero uses his talent on loan from God to stay in control of the match with Edge mounting small comebacks here and there.
Eventually, Hero makes a mistake when he attempts to a hit a big boot while Edge is tied up in the ring ropes. Edge ducks under the boot and Hero accidently crotches himself. Edge begins to make a big comeback which included hitting an Edge O’Matic for a 2 count. Eventually, Edge has Hero in position for his Edgeacution finisher. That’s when Samoa Joe makes his presence known as he appears on the ramp. Edge allows himself to be distracted by Joe’s appearance as he takes his eyes of Hero for a second and looks at Joe. Unfortunately, a second is all the prodigy Hero needs as he is able to get out of the Edgeacution position, get behind Edge and hit his Hero’s Welcome finisher for the 3! Joe just cost Edge the match!
After the bell rings, Hero rolls out of the ring and up the ramp way, happy that he was able to keep his undefeated streak intact. While he is going up the ramp, he is pushed out of the way by Joe, who is making a beeline for the ring. Edge is still in a weakened state from the Hero’s Welcome as Joe enters the ring and just starts stomping a mud hole in Edge. The ref tries to pull Joe away but Joe knocks him out with a single punch! Joe continues to pound Edge with punches and stomps. He even connects with a sick sounding soccer kick right to the surgically-repaired neck of Edge! He then drags Edge outside, lifts him up as if he is going to powerbomb him but then swing Edge right in to the guard rail with Edge’s neck taking the brunt of the impact! Edge is on the ground hurt as security pours out to the ringside area and is finally able to stop the carnage. Joe decides to leave peacefully, happy with the destruction that he has caused. Medical staff begin to attend to Edge, even going so far as to bring a stretcher for him so that they won’t risk doing any more damage to his neck. Edge and Joe were scheduled to face off at Slammiversary but thanks to Joe, the question has to be asked, “Will Edge even make it to Slammiversary?”[Accidently skipped the star rating for this]
Segment 8 Chris Sabin V. Sabu
After another word from our sponsors, We come back for a match between #1 contender to the X-Division Championship, Chris Sabin and the Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal maniac, Sabu. The two shake hands at the beginning the match to show respect for each other but that’s where the sportsmanship ends. The two proceed to have a back and forth contest that sees several high risk maneuvers from both men. Sabin is very athletic and moves with quickness and precision. Sabu, despite age having slowed him down a bit from his prime, is no slouch either as he is almost able to match Sabin’s speed. “Almost” being the key word as despite Sabu’s best efforts, Sabin has youth on his side and is able to outclass Sabu in terms of high-flying ability. When all else fails, Sabu resorts to the brutality that he was known for in ECW and uses a unique hybrid-style of brawling and high-flying to throw Sabin off his game. In the end, however, it’s not enough as Sabin is able to hit his Cradle Shock finisher for 3. Sabin was simply the better man on this night. [***]
After the match, Sean Waltman appears at the top of the ramp way, X-Division championship over his shoulder, and stares down Sabin. Sabin looks up at Waltman and makes a motion around his waist, silently indicating that he is coming for Waltman’s belt. Waltman raises his belt high and mouths “no way.” These two are scheduled to face off at Slammiversary. Will Sabin be able to dethrone a member of the New Flock?
Segment 9 TNA TV Title AJ Styles© V. Jeff Jarrett (w/Dudleys & Hero)
Tonight’s Co-Main Event is up next as AJ Styles defends the TNA Television Championship against ‘Double J’ Jeff Jarrett. The ref attempts to throw Jarrett’s entourage out but they beg and plead with the ref to let them stay, promising to be on their best behavior in this match. Hero even goes so far as to pantomime a halo over his head. Eventually, the ref reluctantly allows them to stay as long as it’s only for moral support of Jarrett. Of course, Jarrett’s Boys go back on their word and help Jarrett at every opportunity when the ref is not looking. The story of the match is that Styles cannot string together any offense for an extended period of time as whenever he does, Hero distracts the ref while the Dudleys help Jarrett gain the upper hand again. Styles might as well be fighting a 4-on-1 handicap match! Styles, however, doesn’t quit and does his best to fight against the odds, even if it appears he is fighting a losing battle.
Eventually, the ref catches one of the Dudleys in the act of illegally helping Jarrett and immediately makes the decision throw Jarrett’s thugs out of the ringside area! Hero and the Dudleys are not happy about this and they make a big fuss, even going so far as to refuse leaving. The ref has to go outside and get security to escort them out. This results in a big ruckus outside of the ring that has the ref occupied. Meanwhile, in the ring, Styles attempts to hit the Styles Clash but Jarrett low blows him. Styles collapses in testicular pain! Jarrett heads outside and grabs the TV title from the bell keeper. He goes back inside the ring and stalks Styles, planning to nail him with the belt. His plan is thwarted, however, by Bryan Danielson who comes through the crowd in his street clothes. He gets behind Jarrett, grabs the belt from him and nails Jarrett with it! Danielson quickly exits the ring and leaves the same way he came. Styles, who is unaware of all of this, gets to his feet and sees Jarrett down. He heads to the top rope and connects with the Spinal Tap! By this time, JJ’s Boys have finally been sent backstage and the ref returns to the ring and counts the “1…2…3!” Styles has retained the TV title with a little help from Bryan Danielson. [***3/4]
Segment 10
When we come back from commercial, AFI’s “Miseria Cantare (The Beginning”, blares over the speaker system as CM Punk makes his way down to the ring, with his BFF Colt Cabana. Around CM Punk’s waist is… probably the ROH World Championship that Punk brought into the company. Why do I say probably? It is hard to tell due to the fact that the entire belt is being heavily blurred, making almost impossible for the people at home to see the initials on the belt. This must be TNA management’s attempt to prevent Punk from making a belt not sanctioned by TNA a focal point of TNA television. Punk and Cabana make their way into the ring and Cabana grabs a microphone for Punk.
Punk: “Now, all of you must be wondering why I asked for this time to speak. Before I get to that, I would like ask for Steve Corino to come down to the ring right now.” Punk only has to wait a few seconds before Corino makes his way down to the ring. Cabana and Punk are applauding Corino and Cabana even holds the ropes open for Corino as he enters the ring. Corino grabs his own mike.
Corino: “What do you want, Punk? Am I here to so you and your sidekick can double-team me? So that you can prove you are the best in world at mugging someone?” Punk chuckles Corino’s harsh tone off.
Punk: “Steve, why so defensive? Can’t I just use this time to talk to a man that I have so much respect for? I consider you to be one of the best wrestlers in the world today and…”
Corino: “Punk, cut the crap and get to the point.”
Punk: “Alright. As you and all of these people know, when I first showed up in TNA, I showed up with this.” Punk takes the ROH title from his waist and raises it right in front of the hard camera. By this point, the belt is nothing but a blur of distorted pixels to people watching at home. “The most prestigious championship in all of professional wrestling. Unfortunately, the suits in Tennessee refuse to accept this fact and claim that this”, he point to the belt, “is not a sanctioned TNA championship since it does not fit the requirements.”
Punk: “They are probably patting themselves on the back right now, saying “job well done, another truth avoided.” I have a solution to solve this great injustice. Those suits aren’t the only one that knows how to use technicalities to get what they want. After looking it up, I have discovered that in order for a championship to be officially recognized by the NWA, and subsequently TNA, it must be contested on national television or on a Pay-Per-View broadcast of some kind in a sanctioned TNA match.
Corino: “What does all of this have to do with me?”
Punk: “Well, in order for this championship, Cabana, and myself to get the respect that we deserve, I must defend this belt in a match on TNA television…or PPV. In 2 weeks, TNA is having its annual Slammiversary PPV. As it stands right now, you don’t have a match for that show. Let’s be honest, after you choked in your bid to win the NWA World Championship last month, you’re not really considered to be the front runner for any championship opportunities now. I say let’s scratch each other’s backs and have a match at Slammiversary for this belt. You help me prove that this championship is the pinnacle of this business and I allow you the privilege of being in the ring with a true world champion like me. I am giving a chance to redeem yourself from your past embarrassments and prove that you are not a complete choke artist. What do you say?”
Corino: “What do I say? Punk…I don’t like you. You are an arrogant prick that’s trying to cruise on your accomplishments from other companies instead of actually trying to make some new accomplishments here. But, and I really hate to admit this, you’re right. Despite my best efforts, I wasn’t able to beat Daniels for the NWA championship. I put everything I had into the match but I still got my shoulders pinned. No bull****, no tricks, Daniels was simply the better man. To be honest, after my loss to Daniels, I lost a lot of my confidence. I began to question my place in this business. The fire within me began to go out. Punk, you are an egotist but you are also an amazing athlete. Hell, if it wasn’t for the fact that you stick your nose up at everyone and claim that you are better than everyone else, you would probably be the most respected wrestler in the world right now. I know that by accepting this match, I’m just giving you what you want…but I also know that I am up against one of the best wrestlers in the world today. If I am able to go one-on-one with you and come out on top, perhaps I can get my confidence back. Perhaps, I can justify why I am still a wrestler. So, Punk, I’ll bite the bait. I accept your challenge.”
With that, Corino stuck his hand in order to seal the deal. Punk gives a smirk and shakes Corino hand. The two get face to face and stare each other down. They stare each other down for what seems like ages until Cabana attempts to hit Corino with a right hand! Corino blocks and takes Cabana down with a right of his own but he is immediately blindsided by Punk, who hits him the ROH belt. Cabana and Punk begin to viciously attack Corino. Corino tries to fight but the odds are too stacked against him! The beat down concludes with Cabana hitting a Colt 45. on Corino and Punk hitting Corino one last time with the title belt. Punk leans over the fallen Corino and cheerfully says “see you in two weeks!” With that, the Second City Saints leave, having left Corino hurt in the ring. Will Punk finally get what he wants and have his “real world championship” recognized as a TNA title at Slammiversary? [93%]
Segment 11 Jeff Hardy V. Petey Williams (w/Alicia Webb)
After Corino is helped to the back, it’s time for our MAIN EVENT! #1 contender to the NWA World title, Jeff Hardy, takes on the “Canadian Destroyer”, Petey Williams. Williams has been on a bit of a losing streak as of late and he is looking to rebound with a huge win against Hardy tonight. As soon the bell rings, both men lock up with Williams getting the better of Hardy and forcing him into the corner, where the ref causes them to break apart. Right after breaking the lock-up, Williams playfully slaps Hardy in the face in an attempt to frustrate him. Hardy keeps his cool and the two lock up again. This time, Hardy gets the better of Williams and forces him into the corner. Hardy returns the favor and slaps Williams in the face, albeit with a lot more force than Williams used. Williams doesn’t react as well as Hardy did, though, as his face narrows in anger and he immediately wrestles Hardy down to the ground.
From that point onward, Williams is able to keep the pace of the match slow and wear Hardy down on the ground. Hardy tries to make a comeback multiple times but every time Williams is able to bring Hardy back to the ground and prevent him from wrestling the high-risk style that Hardy usually wrestles. Finally, Hardy is able to counter an Irish whip into the turnbuckle attempt into a Whisper in the Wind! He takes down Williams but he is unable to go for a cover due to him being too tired from being worked over. When both men get up, Hardy is able to hit Williams with a series of clotheslines and finally keep Williams down with a spin-wheel kick.
Hardy continues to run wild on Williams for the next couple of minutes. At one point, Williams knees Hardy in the gut and puts him into position for the Canadian Destroyer. Hardy is able to counter by tripping Williams up and hitting him with his signature leg drop to the midsection. Hardy then signals that he is going for the Swanton Bomb and heads to the top rope. Unfortunately, Alicia Webb decides to get involved and gets on the apron to distract Hardy. The time that Hardy spends arguing with Webb allows Williams to regain his bearings and get to his feet. He then runs towards the turnbuckle, jumps onto the top rope with Hardy and hits Hardy with a belly to belly suplex off the top!Williams goes for a cover.
“1…2...” No! Hardy is able to kick out at two! Williams is getting frustrated at this point and lifts Hardy up, once again putting him in position for the Canadian Destroyer. Hardy is able to get out of that position, kick Williams in the gut and connect with a Twist of Fate! Hardy heads to the top rope again and, despite Webb’s best attempts to distract Hardy again, is able to hit the Swanton Bomb onto Williams! He makes the cover. “1…2…3!” Hardy has picked up a big win against Petey Williams! [***]
After the match, Hardy is in the ring celebrating in his victory. While Hardy is posing the crowd, Christopher Daniels comes running down the ramp way with the NWA World Championship in hand. He enters the ring and attempts to hit Hardy with the belt. Hardy sees it coming, however, and ducks under the belt shot, kicks Daniels in the stomach and connects with the Twist of Fate! Hardy has just laid out the leader of the New Flock! Hardy proceeds to pick the NWA title and holds it up high to the deafening cheers from the crowd. This very well could be what happens at Slammiversary if Hardy is able to beat Daniels! The show ends with Hardy standing on the turnbuckle, holding the NWA title over his head as the crowd cheers their hero.

Good start. Only complaint I have is that most of the matches (while well written) featured one guy from a feud, with the other half of the feud interfering at the end or coming out after the match. Theres really nothing wrong with that at all, its just that it happened in, I believe, 7 of the 8 matches, and it got pretty predictable toward the end. Again, not a big deal, especially since this episode was about establishing a ton of rivalries in one night and trying to build to a PPV in only two weeks, but its something you might look at. That said, there were a lot of positives to counter that one sticking point for me. I thought you wrote Punk's promo really well, and I love the angle with the ROH Title. In fact, I think all of your non-wrestling segments were good. Abyss/Rhino as a team in 05 has a lot of possibilities, particularly with a motivated Rhino, so Im looking forward to that. And I enjoyed the Aries/Truth interaction, and thought you did a good job with Killing's promo. "A disturbance in the force if you will." Tremendous. And like I mentioned earlier, I liked your style of match writing. Id give certain examples, but I think its probably better to just say 'keep doing what you did here'. All in all, good start, and I hope you keep updating

I do agree that, in hindsight, I really overused the whole "Wrestler X attacks Wrestler Y during/after match to advance feud" deal too much but, as you said, the primary goal of this show was to build to a PPV in two weeks. I will definitely try to use that less though.

June 6th edition of TNA Xplosion! [82%]
Segment 1
Shane Madison defeats Arik Cannon- Shane Madison is a recent graduate of the FCW Developmental Camp. In his debut match, he takes on ‘The Anarchist’ Arik Cannon. A back and forth match that ends when Cannon attempts to hit his ‘Glimmering Warlock’ finisher. Madison is able to duck under it and hits a belly to back pile driver that the announcers call “The Aftermath.” This gets Madison the easy 3 count. Madison has made a good impression in his debut match. [***3/4]
Segment 2
Alex Shelly & Matt Bentley (w/Alicia Webb) defeat Delirious & Jimmy Jacobs- Two more debuts here as both Jacobs & Delirious have recently graduated from FCW. This is a short match that sees Shelly & Bentley dominate. It can’t be called a complete squash match due to the fact that Delirious & Jacobs are able to get in their spots here and there but they are simply no match for the extremely talented (and extremely cocky) team of Shelly & Bentley. The match ends when Shelly hits his Shellshock finisher on Jacobs followed up by a Picture-Perfect elbow drop from Bentley. [***3/4]
Segment 3 A video recap replays the vicious assault that Edge suffered at the hands of Samoa Joe on the last episode of IMPACT! The end of the video puts over the fact that their match at Slammiversary is now going to be a No-Disqualification match and that Edge has said that he will compete, come hell or high water. [91%]
Segment 4
Jack Evans defeats Mikey Whipwreck- This is Jack Evans’ return match after taking a 3-month sabbatical to recover from “personal issues”. It is a successful debut as he manages to defeat Mikey Whipwreck. Whipwreck puts up a good fight but the speed and athleticism of Evans is nearly unmatched here in TNA and eventually Evans is able to put Whipwreck away with his signature 630 splash off the top rope. [***]
Segment 5
Another video recaps the confrontation between Steve Corino & CM Punk from IMPACT! That led to them creating a match between themselves at Slammiversary for Punk’s (BLEEP) championship. If the match goes through, Punk will get his wish of having his championship considered a sanctioned TNA championship [94%]
Segment 6
Spanky defeats Zach Starr- the Wizards of Odd, Spanky and Shannon Moore, have recently been feuding with the alliance of Ken Anderson and Zach “The Real” Starr. Tonight, one half of each team collides. After a good, fast paced match between the two, it appears that Starr has the win when he puts Kendrick in position for his “Starr Power” finisher (Brainbuster) but Kendrick, while being lifted up for the move, is somehow able to turn it into a roll-up for the win! Spanky has gotten the win in what has to be considered a minor upset! Moore comes down to the ring to celebrate his partner’s victory while Starr looks absolutely furious on the outside as Anderson tries to calm him down. [***1/4]
Segment 7
Bleeding Red Harts defeat the Havana Pitbulls (w/Konnan) - The Havana Pitbulls have been on a roll ever since picking up Konnan as their manager. Recently, they have been feuding with Cideaclypse and even defeated them on last week’s episode of Xplosion! Granted, it was due to interference from K-Dawg but in their minds, a win is a win.
In this match, the Pitbulls attempt to continue their hot streak by taking it to the Bleeding Red Harts with stiff shots and hard-hitting suplexs. The BRH aren’t going to take this lying down though, and fight back with their high octane offense. Unfortunately, The Pitbulls are able to ground them with multiple submission moves and the occasional interference from K-Dawg. It looks the BHR might be done when Cideaclypse appears on the ramp. This causes Konnan to start having a fit and demanding that the ref kick them out. Konnan’s reaction causes the Pitbulls to get distracted. The BHR use the distraction to turn the tide and are eventually able to hit their “Hartache” tag team finisher (Basically, it’s the “More Bang for Your Buck” move that the Young Bucks use) for the win! Cideaclypse have cost their rivals a match! [***3/4]
Segment 8
The theme music of Commissioner Mick Foley plays as he makes his way down to the ring. He apparently has a few announcements to make. He enters the ring, allows the crowd’s cheers for him to die down, and gets a mic.
Foley: “You know, a great thing about being commissioner is that I can bring to life all of these ideas that I have stirring up in the old noggin. Tonight, I am here to announce my latest idea that has been approved by TNA management and will go into effect within the next couple of weeks. It’s an idea that I like to call “Defy or Deny.” "Here’s the deal. A wrestler can challenge a champion that holds a belt that he has never held before to a match. This match will have a 15-minute time limit and will be non-title. If the challenger manages to defeat the champion or even goes the distance with the champ, he will receive a championship match for the title at a later date. If the challenger should lose that match, however, he will be forbidden from challenging for ANY championship for 90 days. He can either DEFY the odds or be DENIED the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m really clever, aren’t I?” Foley proceeds to laugh at his own joke. After his laughter dies down and the crowd is done reacting to the announcement, he continues.
Foley: “Now, onto another matter. One thing that really sucks about being commissioner is that I’m the one that has to be the bearer of bad news. On the last episode of IMPACT!, #1 contender to the X-Division Championship, Chris Sabin, suffered an injury during his match with Sabu. The injury will not require surgery…but it WILL prevent Sabin from competing in the X-Division title match at Slammiversary against Sean Waltman.” The crowd boos this development.
Foley: “But fear not, citizens, I have a plan to remedy to this situation. This Friday on IMPACT! there will be a 4-way dance between Sabu, Ruckus, Alex Shelly, and Petey Williams. The winner of that match will go on to take Sabin’s place and challenge Sean Waltman at Slammiversary.” This announcement seems to placate the crowd.
Foley: “Now that that’s taken care, there’s one more thing I must discuss. This past IMPACT! CM Punk and Steve Corino made a match between themselves at Slammiversary for Mr. Punk’s... very decorative paper weight. Now, I have no problem with the idea of them having a match at Slammiversary. Hell, I think that they will steal the show. BUT, there is an issue in here. Mr. Punk, I, along with TNA management, have told you numerous times that your belt is not a sanctioned TNA belt. You have ignored our constant warnings and have insisted on bringing that belt on to TNA television. Now, you have finagled yourself into a position to make your belt a sanctioned TNA title by taking advantage of Mr. Corino, who is not in the best emotional state right now and cannot make the best decisions. I will NOT allow you to manipulate your way into getting what you want. Therefore, Steve Corino v. CM Punk will happen at Slammiversary but it will not be for Punk’s personal belt buckle.” The crowd has…mixed reactions to this.
Foley: “I apologize that some of you are not getting what you thought was a confirmed match but TNA management cannot allow outlaws like Mr. Punk to fast-talk themselves into get what they want. Thank you all for your time and I hope you all enjoy the rest of the show!” [84%]
Segment 9
Brandon Robinson defeats Jay Briscoe- Robinson, ever since debuting a few months ago, has managed to stay undefeated after all but tearing through all of his completion so far. Tonight, he faces the tough-as-nails Jay Briscoe. Jay, while being a great all-arounder and is able to match Robinson blow-for-blow for most of the match, is unable to put away the beast Robinson. Robinson continues to show his dominance by managing to out-brawl Jay and eventually hitting him with his Ice-Breaker (STO-Backbreaker) finisher for the win. After the match, the two shake hands and show respect to each other for such a hard-hitting match. [***3/4]
Segment 10
Chris Hero defeats Kip James, CIMA, and Ruckus in a 4-corners match- A very chaotic match that features a mix of styles. Ruckus and CIMA bring blinding speed to the match. Hero brings his talent on loan from God, especially his technical ability. Kip James brings the experience edge as he is the veteran wrestler in this match. That experience does not help James, unfortunately, as he ends up eating the pin in this match. Ruckus hits James with a 450 Splash off the top. Before he makes the cover, however, Hero runs in, throws Ruckus to the outside, and gets the win for himself. Hero has managed to keep his undefeated streak alive. [***3/4]
Segment 11
Adam Pearce defeats Chad Coyller- This match stems from a confrontation that the two had a few weeks ago. Pearce offered Coyller the position of being his bodyguard but Coyller turned him down. Pearce, feeling disrespected by this rejection, has attempted to make Coyller life very difficult by constantly attacking him from behind. Here, Coyller finally gets his chance to face Pearce in a fair one-on-one match.
Coyller pretty much outclasses Pearce in every aspect and dominates most of the match. The little offense that Pearce is able to achieve, he does so through cheating. It appears to not be enough, however, as Coyller continues to beat Pearce from pillar to post. Eventually, Pearce tries to hit a desperation clothesline on Coyller but Coyller easily ducks it. Pearce instead hits the ref! The ref goes down like a sack of potatoes! Coyller turns Pearce around, throws him on the ground, and slaps on his Texas Cloverleaf submission. Pearce immediately starts tapping but there is no ref to count the submission.
Pearce continue to tap out like there’s no tomorrow until Coyller lets go of the hold tries to revive the ref. As he is doing so, however, a tall lanky man comes running down the ramp and enters the ring. He grabs Coyller and hits a Strait-Jacket powerbomb on him! The man then drags Pearce onto Coyller and revives the ref before hiding under the ring. The ref detects nothing amiss and counts the 3-count, giving the win to Pearce! The mystery man that attacked Coyller now comes back into the ring and shakes hand with Adam Pearce! The mystery man grabs Pearce a mic.
Pearce: “Hey Coyller, since you wouldn’t take my money, I found someone who would. Meet my new bodyguard, Claudio Castagnoli! Claudio, why don’t you introduce yourself to Mr. Coyller one more time?”
Claudio picks Coyller up and hits him with another Strait-Jacket powerbomb! Pearce and Claudio poses over Coyller fallen body as the show comes to a close. [***3/4]
I decided to use a different format for this show since this is considered the “B-Show.” Any feedback to this change, and the show itself, would be much appreciated.
