Sure, it's not coming out until May, but I'm also excited about L.A. Noire. An adventure game developed by Rockstar and Australia's Team Bondi, L.A. Noire is a detective story told from the perspective of Cole Phillips. A new detective in a corrupt L.A. police force in 1947, Cole has to solve multiple murders, but instead of doing it strictly through fisticuffs and gun play, he discovers evidence and interrogates witnesses on the way to unraveling crimes that actually took place during that era.
The real meat of the game is the interrogation sequences, where facial mapping has made it possible to actually tell if a witness is lying by facial ticks, the way they move their eyes, or the anger expressed through their voice and expressions. If you watch the trailers, it's unlike anything you've seen in a game, and it's these sequences that got me excited in the first place. Finding out it's closer to an old-school adventure game than what you normally get out of Rockstar sealed the deal for me.
Definitely getting this one the day it's released.
Brian J. Blottie -I'll get this one on the PS3 so Jed can try it out as well.

Like I need another all-consuming game ... Fallout 3 ... GTA4 ... God Of War trilogy ... Castlevania ...
Jed Shaffer ~And my Wii sits there, saying "Hey, forget me?".

60-some-odd VC and WiiWare games, Super Mario Galaxy 2, No More Heroes 2, Scarface, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy say "no, I shouldn't". Jed Shaffer ~What was that in your Ask Games column you had a few weeks back, about the most annoying video game fanboy group? Anti-Wii snobs. Yeah, #1 with a bullet.

See, that was a joke.
Reason #346236236623 for the Chandler/Barney System to become accepted worldwide.

I'm a supporter of the Barney/Chandler system. Even if I loathe both of those shows.
And yes, I realized it was sarcasm. Hence my snarky tilde joke.
Jed Shaffer ~Gimme House for sarcasm.

Finally picked this up. It'll be a while before I play it (picked up three games for $40 today), as I have a backlog of games to work on ... but I have it!
Jed Shaffer ~It's cheaper to be a year behind the curve.
